Is that 25ft in the video??

Those guys are serious about their rope climbing.
 
Damn, that reminded me of when I was in the Marines and there was a rope climb at the end of the O course. I'd say the rope was only like 12 feet or something but this guy would just power up there with just his arms and the rope was at the end of the course.

Man it's all watered down now. It's a big deal to let people climb legitimately long ropes.

I mostly just did it so that the crossfitters could see me doing something that they do not involving a barbell.

And thanks man. I'm feeling really good about training. I'm just very beat up.

NK, while I have your ear. What's your experience with lidocaine patches??

I've got a couple here and I'm dealing with a hamstring strain. I'm tempted to use one tonight but then I don't want the reduced pain to make me overlook some warning signs during training tomorrow that it's worsening. Thoughts?

---Hamstring surprisingly feeling much better today. I actually trained in the same compression pants I sometimes sleep in when I have a minor strain, when my knees are tired, hips are tired, etc.. Felt pretty great. Hammy gave me no serious discomfort while training and feels fine now. Dull pressure.

--Wasn't happy at all with pulls today. I just couldn't pull with confidence. Babying that leg even though it felt decent, I guess. The only good set all day was the very last 455 from the floor. My hands made it through all the 430's and one 455 before I had to switch to straps. On the last set I really decided to sit down and pull through my legs. Felt great and looks okay. Speed is terrible but I'm really happy with the positions.

--Block work was turrible. Just alllll hip/haming out of that position. No leg drive at all. Backed off, still fugly. I shouldn't worry too much, given the leg thing. Overall though I just don't feel confident in my pull like I do in the squat/bench right now. I might run the next # with 90% of 535 and clean some things up. Undecided.

--Benching was just great though. No wraps or belt all day. Everything felt just great off the chest. I felt as if though I could put on wraps and a belt and launch 310 pretty easily. Can't wait to 1RM this bitch soon. The back off sets were surprisingly challenging. Did they really quickly. Mega pump, lol.

--If I feel well tomorrow I'll do some ast. shenanigans. Perhaps just some upper body though. The next session's squatting is quite gnarly and I want this ham-thing at as near to 100% as possible.

--Today was a great day though.
 
I have a feeling you are gonna dominate 310. I'm exited to see to see the vid, that will be damn good especially for your weight.

Dude. Sorry for not responding. I took Thursday and Friday off and I don;t get online much when I am at home...

I don't have much experience with them other than the doc here has prescribed it for post shingles neuralgia. Mostly for nerve pain. Numbs the area and is localized only...

Not sure how effective it would be with strain injury, but I would just go with NSAIDS and rest.

Thanks man I really appreciate the vote of confidence. As soon as I see an opportunity in a session I'm going to try and launch that thing. 315 paused at a meet @165 would be tremendously encouraging.

No worries man I figured as much. I didn't use it. Decided to play it safe. Was able to pull without any real discomfort but I was babying it. Little sore today. More hips randomly, than anything else.

---Surprisingly good session today. Was dealing with some hip pain but everything felt strong. Slow, though. I was trying to be careful. It seems like the faster I descend the more of these little aches I accrue. So I was minding that in the squats.

--Benching was odd. I had a few really weird reps. 2-3. Really mad mis-grooves. Everything else felt a little sluggish but about as strong as usual. Not to concerned about it.

--I'm going to try and get a short accessory session(back day) in if I can tomorrow.

--Shed a lot of water today.

---Pretty much a back day. Stark reminder of how weak my back has gotten. I need to make time for this stuff. Recovery allowing. Also did some roll-outs which were also garbage. The set up was difficult as I was using a BB but... need to tighten up here if I want to pull 580, I think.

--Felt fuckin POWERFUL coming into these squats. I had a realization about training today and just came in motivated. Everything was smooth and easy. The programming was 90%(390) for a 2x1. I didn't want to deviate too much even though I was feeling solid. However, it felt silly having just done doubles across at 370, and a PR triple at 400, and then only doing a 2x1 at 390. Ego-driven? Yes. It felt great. The 410 felt fast. Not as pretty as it could be but I'm happy with it for a 400+ rep right now. I was tempted to load up 440 and take the intensity to 11 but there was the tiniest sliver of doubt in my mind, so I decided against.

--Hoping for some solid benching later this evening.

Unable to complete training today. I believe this is the first time I've had this happen on Sheiko. Hm. Slightly frustrating.

No way around it. Worked from 6am-noon, Squatted, Class(final); not done until 1015. And then I ran out of gas on the way home and was on the roadside for a bit. Boom. Good squatting though so who cares.

I think I can get it in tomorrow and the following bench session is pretty chill so I can likely stay on schedule.
Bench has been feeling good. Who knows. Maybe this is fortunate and I can launch a rocket tomorrow or something. BAMCIS!
