Sorry Legio for clogging up your log!

yeaaa..most likely...and If I actually had any money whatsoever I wouldn't mind giving him some lol. Being broke sucks though cause no one wants to hire someone with no experience hah.:(

And the last coupla pages in here have been interesting indeed. :icon_lol:

Also Legio, if you're ever super stuck for money again I'm sure people in f13 would donate. I'd happily Paypal you $30 for form advice on Oly lifts.

I very much appreciate the sentiment but I couldn't fathom accepting cash to give people online input.

It's just not remotely as effective as face to face coaching.

Also, I'm not that good at it. :)

You just have to stay on me and nag me a lot for regular input. Ask Gfreak, he knows. I mean to reply I just forget and get busy and get all ADDy and whatnot.

hahahaha EVERY guy I tell about hog shooting gets so excited. What's up with that?

I get excited whenever a woman does a traditionally "male" activity. I think a lot of guys do.

On the reals though, let's blast some piggies. Can we keep the carcass?? I've got a butcher here that'll pay top dollar.

Why is legio getting the inside track on the chick that likes to shoot hogs?

I also second this. Asking for help sucks sometimes but there are times where it is the best option. As long as I've got a spare bedroom, food in the pantry, and beer in the fridge there is no reason for you to ever go hungry, thirsty, or without a place to stay.

The offer is greatly appreciated, for sure. If I'm ever in the area I'll be all over that.

the beer might be a great selling point.

I'm traditionally a liquor man but as a guest in someone's house it's hard to turn it down should they offer beer. Especially good beer. :)

lol! I don't "like" to shoot hogs. I'm probably going to cry when I see them get killed. She has to shoot the baby ones too. She doesn't hunt them for food, but has to kill them because they're an invasive species in a national park, so that comforts me a little haha

This sounds like an excellent reason to shoot something.

I do very much appreciate a lot of the members on this board and hope I can one day return the kind support.

So I'm going to dispense with a long winded post about why I'm changing my training programming up.

Long story short after ten weeks I "felt" weaker and missed what should normally be easy lifts.

Potentially impatient of me but... here we are.

So tonight was the first night of SHEIKO #29

Starting maxes:

Squat: 385 (HB, Belt wraps)
Bench Press: 275 (TNG)
Deadlift: 525

Monday FEB 25, 2013

Flat Bench Press:
140 1x5
165 2x4
192.5 2x3
205 5x3

Top Sets:

LBBS:
192.5 1x5
235 2x5
270 5x5(belt, wraps)

Top Sets:

Flat Bench Press:

165 1x5
192.5 4x4

Banded Flyes:
5x10

Lat P/D:
120 5x12

Cambered Bar Good Mornings:
+50 5x5

---First time ever doing work sets with a low-bar set up. It's very weird. I'm more or less content with them but I'm glad I decided to record all the work sets. It's going to take me a while to hit a consistent depth. I was all over the place feeling for it.
It wasn't harder or easier. Just weird. It'll take some time to acclimate.

--Benching felt great. Easy and smooth.

Sheiko War Wagon rolls on!

You have no idea how little face to face Oly coaching is available here. $30 is nothing for online feedback.

In June however I'm going to be getting Oly coaching as part of a S&C qualification from Tamas Feher, who is the Great Britain weightlifting coach. He'll be coaching us on how to actually teach the Oly lifts but I can obviously use those cues on myself. Have you heard of him?

I'm not at all familiar with the UK weightlifting scene unfortunately. It seems as if though they've been stuck in a rut similar to the US. Putting up better numbers but held back by a less than optimal doping program. Just my opinion.

Well.. just did a quick search on him. You can find the same info but apparently his methods are quite controversial.

The first thing that jumps out to me is his insistence on a staggered stance start position. I've seen it before but assumed it was a unique adaptation. I gather he believes it to be superior for reasons he does provide.

It appears he also takes several weeks to teach each lift which is also quite unusual.

Hmmm... this is all very strange to me

Well he's going to be teaching us the Oly component in one day, so I'm guessing we'll get the cliff notes.

With "staggered stance" you mean the foot position?

Good luck with the new program, broski.

...and good luck with everything else!

Good luck with sheiko, I've heard good things about it from pretty much everyone who has run it.

---Pretty beat up coming in today. Got a very late start. Didn't wrap up til 11pm or so. Damn tired by the end.

--Pulls felt pretty great actually. Some weird stuff on a few reps but I think I did an okay job adjusting mid set. So, that's good.

--I set the reverse bands up on a lower pin than normal so it'd unload early. I did this in place of block work and enjoyed it. It might be better to use a heavier band and go down one more notch. Not sure yet.

--Was supposed to do an acc movement after incline pressing but the left elbow felt a bit weird and I saw no reason to tempt fate on something silly. Did a bunch of reverse curls at the end. I wish someone hadn't stolen my trainer CoC gripper. Using that a bunch always kept my wrist/elbow pain in check. Assclowns.

So the cube method is no good? I noticed you were only doing the bare minimum right? Most of the logs I've seen people are adding more work although I have no idea how they go about it.

Oh no I'm not saying that at all. It seems to be working for a lot of people.

I'm not quite sure how to communicate the issues I seem to have had with the program via a forum message.

I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying it out. Hell I even had fun on lots of the days.

I upated my main forum post but I also thought I'd put this here for your perusement.

First time checking out this log. Keep working hard, man I'll be checking back again.
