I am a peer, and I have reviewed this thread.

Rather than reading the papers and discrediting the work, the author has tried to convince us that Daniel Eicher's opinion on the Jon Jones drug test failures is not creditable based on the impact factors of the journals in which Eicher's work has been published.

The author obviously has an axe to grind, but this methodology itself lacks impact and has failed to find traction with this peer.

A secondary target of this flame was "Dim", whose claim that Daniel Eicher has more than 20 published articles [citation missing, use of phrase 'lead author' remains unverified] remains factually correct. However, his attempt to distract/seduce the reader by posting a gratuitous picture of breasts, although much appreciated by the common shertard, was a cheap ploy and therefore disqualifies him from being awarded the victory.

Oh and you're also wrong about Eichner being the lead on some of those papers. I haven't checked them all but the Analytical Chemistry paper lists Cox as the corresponding (lead) author: https://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/acs.analchem.7b02492?src=recsys&journalCode=ancham

The order of the names on the paper doesn't actually matter. Typically the first-author is, well, first, and the lead (corresponding) author is last. There is one common exception though: When the person doing the majority of the work (first-author) is also the corresponding author, their name will go first, but they will be the corresponding author with the * next to their names.

Eichner is only getting his name on these papers because he provides the funding. He's a businessman.

Ok but how can you prove this? As a man of science you need evidence? Can't just state a guy feeling as a fact. Show the reciepts where he's funding the paper to put his name on it.

On a serious note, it would be interesting to know what you do exactly.
You've never mentioned what you do for living or what exactly is your scientific field.
Back to the topic, of course that Eichner is not the top scientist, or the "real" scientist if you wish.
His positions were at the top of anti-doping bodies, and those positions are operational.
Scientists usually don't run organizations, they do research in their respective fields, which doesn't leave much time for running things on operational level (not to mention that it requires a totally different skillset).
But regardless of Eichner scientific credentials (he's definitely not a top scientist), he's absolutely more than qualified to handle Jon Jones "turinabol" case having spent the entire career in the field of anti-doping at the top of the most widely recognized anti-doping bodies.
