Movies Daniel Day-Lewis sparks a feud with Brian Cox as he tells him to 'get off his soap box' after Scottish star dismissed method acting as 'American s**t'

Does it matter what method or process you do as an actor as long as it works?

Wardruna isnt really demonic

But it's def pagan'd the fuck out.
Pagans worship demons from my paradigm. That being said, I grew up on black metal and all that stuff and love all those bands like Drudkh etc etc. It's just fun musical cosplay to me.

Having been a fan of BM for a long time now, It is cosplay to most of them too. Most of them are cottony soft, and not at all the “demons” they like to portray. Just some boys having fun

And false Dawn is still a banger

Archgoat, and Blasphemy are bands made up of dudes that were already Black metal before they picked up an instrument or listened to music, and they figured that Black/death was as good as any, a way to express themselves. Those types of bands endure. Oricsh music is the best kinda music.

Whereas some other bands were had lightning in a bottle, that they themselves couldnt contain, after a certain period.

This is exactly what Cox meant by what he said. Do you really have to take it “that far” to be convincing? Method acting is one thing, but things like this is what gives method acting its reputation that it’s been having.

It obviously works for DDL, but I can understand why some other actors find it annoying. Especially if they're working with someone who refuses to break character between takes, as DDL does.

Apart from Olivier's famous response to Hoffman, I also like Noel Coward's answer when asked what advice he would give to actors just starting their careers.

"Learn your lines, hit your mark and try not to trip over the furniture". :)
