Daniel Cormier Vs Brock Lesnar

In terms of wrestling overall I think DC is the more skilled on compared to Brock and even compared to Jones but there is a strange dynamic going on.

For example I think Brock would have a much easier time in taking down Jones then DC would have in taking Jones down...

DC goes for this clinch takedowns, trips, high crotch, single leg, chain wrestling keeping you off balance and in a constant attack and this was easier for Jon to handle with his bigger body/frame, excellent balance, leverage, his own wrestling skills, better cardio and better speed/reflexes.

Brock goes for a more straight forward classic folk style approach by shooting a double leg with good speed for a man of his size and just sheer power/size using that mass in his favor.. and he doesn't even have the best timing and he still pulls them off when he commits to them (yea he had some sorry half ass tries vs Carwin/Ubereem but I think he was a bit shook in the confidence department after the surgery and in facing big strong man that are killers in the striking).. and guess what I think this would work better vs Jon and this are the same type of takedowns that Rashad was doing vs Jon in practice and succeeding (even keeping him down if we all remember the build up to Jones vs Rashad but hey a fight is different then training and Rashad didn't or couldn't pull the trigger like in practice).

DC's chain wrestling is a thing of beauty and hands down his the most skilled wrestler from the big man.. Jones got his takedowns and "won the wrestling" based on cardio, damage done to the mid section and that early takedown that came was from a trip and Jones beying the longer man managed to snag the leg away.. in terms of wrestling DC is better then Jones to me.. problem is cardio goes to Jon, striking range, kicks, subs, overall MMA mixing it up its all Jones.
I agree with your analysis of their wrestling styles and strengths. Brock's athleticism is probably a shade higher, especially when matched with his size. DC's specific wrestling style, especially at the world-class level of skills he has, is well suited for this matchup.

Who do you think wins? I have no doubt in my.mind, DC would whoop Brock. Brock was a novice on the feet, and didn't have the wherewithal standing to be composed and strike with DC, and DC clearly had the functional strength advantage to go alongside his vastly superior wrestling.

I remember when Randy was pushing Brock against the cage. And Brock was thinking and had to use distance and start off striking with Mir.

Brock could hit hard, but DC's been in there with harder hitters that are legit strikers, and way faster than Brock.

Really? There's a thread on this exact matchup like 5 posts down lol.

Brock was a beast and diverticulitis fucked him up, he would have done great had he started mma in his 20's. That being said, DC would beat any version of Brawck. I think his comeback is entertaining but he will fail miserably.

The best example was Cain, DC's training partner, against him.

Cain took more hits than DC would take. DC would evade most of his strikes, and land most of his, and also be able to wall n grind him, take him down, then beat him up like he did Rumble.

Lesnar would pick small-man Cormier up like nothing and toss him up behind his head. GNP and elbows would finish him off.

Anyone picking Brock needa to have their MMA fandom card revoked for life.

Do you guys not understand that Josh Barnett can actually take a punch, and knows how to strike to survive a 5 round fight with DC, and also Brock's too reckless.

Brock also has poor carido with his giant frame. He'd get wall n brawled for a round, exhausted by round 2, taken down, then beat into submission.

And there's no way Brock's hurting DC. Also, little old Couture was able to push Brock up against the cage. Brock's functional strength was so overrated. And watch the Mir fight. Brock had to use distance, and couldn't just rush in on him like you guys think he'd do. That's too much time for DC to lick him apart.

And then what if he does rush in? He'd get hip tossed onto his back.

yeah I would love to see this fight, for the mere pleasure of seeing DC wrestlefuck Lesnar. Could you imagine him picking up Lesnar and slamming him like has done to so many guys.

I like this fight. We never got Fedor vs Bork, at least we can have Black Fedor vs Bork, the next best thing.

And this is some Bill Goldberg(!) vs The Giant picking up and slamming we're.seeing here, Joe.

I think people are underestimating Lesnar's wrestling... If that's even possible. He could have gone to the Olympics and maybe could have even won a medal had WWE not offered him a boatload of money.

lol you know they have drug testing in Olympics? Also They still had Karelin competing when brock was around 20. That would look like straight rape if brock tried to compete against him.

Randy took him down so I think DC could. I got DC all day he's undefeated at hw and matches up well against Brock.
