Daniel Cormier @dc_mma
@ufc 170 can't come fast enough. 3 weeks to the fight 212lbs.

That's a pretty poor photo. They got a ton of a blank wall at the top and cut his lower legs and feet off. :icon_lol:

Why would someone take a photo at that strange angle?

You should get banned for spoiling the fight. This is how it will go most likely

LOL. Ya, who knows though, I have thought that before and 2 guys go out there and put on a show. This just seems to be the most likely scenario. I am a fan of both guys but the matchup seems to set up that way.

Coach or not thats some bullshit. Where im from you go hard no matter who it is. The hell with all that bullshit. If me and my brother was in the same business and i was making $100,000 and he $1,000,000 and i think i can take that away from him and switch places shit it is what it is im snatchin your plate son. Blood is thicker than water but water wash away blood and green run the world fam. Guess he always wanted be cains yes man.

Please, for your safety, don't ever talk like this in real life.

Call me crazy, but if DC had never went through his kidney crisis back in the Olympics, I'm 100% certain he could make MW.

212 lb and he still looks around ~15% body fat. Chael at LHW was probably cutting from around 215 lb and he still looked more cut than DC here. I think this should really highlight how crazy of a feat it has been for Cormier to manhandle guys as big as Barnett and Bigfoot Silva. He really is the Black Fedor. Rashad is a tough match up but I think he should be able to outwrestle him. After that I expect him to do the same thing to Jones. ;)

He used to wrestle at 184 in his early 20's.

I don't know about so sure but there were a bunch of skeptics because he almost died in the past from a weight cut and he's been known to have problems in that department. There was reason to have concern.

Not really. because it was under extreme circumstances, for this cut he had time and a proper diet.

To think there were so many people so sure about him not making the weight.

Just wishful thinking from Jones fanatics not wanting to see him get put on his back then pounded out. :icon_lol:

This doesn't surprise me at all. As I tried to explain countless times to people who kept citing his problem cutting weight at the Olympics, the guy can make 205 without cutting one pound, he just had to diet. As you can see he still has plenty of fat on him. Realistically he could make 185. 205 was never remotely an issue.

That's good. Really hope he will perform well at that weight class.

Still pudgy as. How long before he drops to 185?

Looks to still be 16-18% BF here so he should be able to make it easy.

this. he looks very fat at 212 actually.

Thin, liquid, loose. Great motivation, thanks DC!

Why would he have not had 'time' and 'proper diet' then? Are college wrestling events now known far in advance? Do they just pop up spur of the moment?

The bigger issue with those informed was always 'how will he be able to compete at LHW as potentially a tiny LHW who might be the smallest LHW of the recent age since Hendo'.

I said it time and again that to get to LHW he would have to do almost little to no water cut. he would have to diet down and potential lose muscle mass so that he had a minimal water cut and regain for fight time.

So can a Cormier, who as things look today will be in the cage at probably around 210lbs max, fight Jones and other top lhw, who are generally now 220-230lbs? Can he give up that much at LHW and still be effective? I guess we will see.
