Daniel Cormier down to 212 lbs 3 Weeks out.

I thought he didn't want to go lower than 220?
Damn 212, even evans weighs more than that.

He basically killed his kidneys wrestling in high school and college. They can't handle much stress at this point, so he can't dehydrate himself to the same levels other fighters can. Basically, he'll be fighting as an almost natural 205er, cutting a very minimal amount of water weight and dieting to get down to it.

I stand corrected. The concept of genetic predisposition towards a particular body type is horseshit. The entire field of genetic science can go fuck itself for being so terribly wrong.
Read for content much or just chose to ignore what I said? DC or ANYONE ON THE PLANET could have visible abs at the right bodyfat % level. Because EVERYONE has abdominal muscles. If you don't understand human anatomy that's ok, just raise your hand and ask a question. The only genetics in question is if the person was born without a rectus adbominis muscle. Otherwise it's not genetics, it's called LAZY. Too many help rep sessions of fork to mouth. Obesity is a choice not a disease.

I know about his kidneys, but he said in some interview himself that he wants to be around 220 and then cut to 205.
That said, he looks small even compared to Evans.
Evans at 212 has much less bf% than Cormier.
If Cormier wanted he could go near the 10% and make 185.

Look at how big his core is. He's going to wreck Rashad.

Hard to believe he's only 212 fighting at LHW though. He'll probably be the smallest guy in the division.

I think anyone claiming that Cormier looks fat should be required to attach a shirtless selfie.

I don't think everyone understands the role that genetics plays in your body's appearance. Cain is a great example. Nobody in all of MMA works harder than that guy- he's a cardio monster for HW. Not everyone can look like the guys in the Calvin Klein ads, no matter how hard they work or how diligently they diet. And, at the end of the day, it has jack and shit to do with what happens inside the cage.

You literally have no idea what you're talking about. Cormier IS fat compared to other fighters. It's not just how his fat is distributed, his body fat % is high for a fighter.

Just because you have good work ethic doesn't mean you will have a low body-fat body. Cain works extremely hard, but how's his diet? Does he even WANT to have low body fat %? I doubt it. Having some fat helps you cardio-wise. Just because you're more shredded does NOT mean you have better cardio or that you train harder.

Genetic plays a big factor, but EVERYONE can become shredded. Some people just look better than others while shredded, but everyone can get to that point except ones with rare diseases and such.

If you train right and have a good diet, you will become shredded. Bad genetics won't stop that, just delay it a bit.

The only thing I agree with you is that physique doesn't mean much when it comes to fighting. Cormier and Cain are top three HW and they carry around a lot of fat.

Isn't that really small for a LHW? At least he won't have to worry about being drained from the weight cut, 7 pounds is nothing.

It was "remotely" an issue as he obviously likes to eat and has health problems that prevent a massive cut. He has dieted down nicely (congrats /kudos to DC!)
Not being able to stick to a diet is not what I would consider an "issue". The weight cut could be, but as evidenced by the pic, he doesn't need to cut a single pound to make 205.

but now, like I and others predicted he is an UNDERSIZED LHW. People couldn't seem to get that concept but here we go.
I wasn't involved in those discussions but I can't imagine people saying he was gonna be a big 205er. The guy is very short, not overly built, and probably can't cut as much weight as most guys. I don't think there was any question he was going to be a small LHW.

So Cormier's obese now? Look- the guy's an endomorph. No amount of diet or exercise can transform him into one of the other two body types. What you're seeing there is a picture of a guy who's overall fitness level is very high. Don't be fooled by the fact that he doesn't look like a Ken doll. Yes, he could cut his body fat % down some if he wanted to, but getting there would come at a higher price for him than it would for most, and it's not necessarily a great idea.

You're taking what I said to the extreme end of the spectrum. I wasn't saying that it's impossible for him to be shredded. He's a classic endomorph. It would take a lot more work and time for him to be shredded than most people, and, as you say above, would likely be detrimental to his profession. People should stop blasting him for not looking like a He Man action figure. It's not in the cards for him. That's what I was getting at.

Anyone else see this and think immediately he can make 185? Or am I pushing it?

I can agree on that. No need to blast him for his physique - it is what it is and it's worked for him so far.

Only Russian banya could make it possible!
