There is an unwritten rule, to Dana, that even if your opponent misses weight, you either take the fight anyway, or take another fight ASAP. Many precedents have been set. Just recently, Khamzat missed weight by a whole lot, and Nate did the companyman thing and fought someone else on the same card. Most fighters still fight, accepting a percentage of their missed-weight opponent as compensation. What Wonderboy did in choosing not to fight Pereira was break Dana's unwritten rule. That's why he didn't get paid, even though he and a lot of people think he should have.
Opinions?
Sorry, but there's no written rule at all.
It is obvious that Dana does whatever the fuck he wants, depending if he likes/dislikes the fighter.
In reality, the "set" rule in place is simple.
If you are a replacement fighter, you have to make weight. If you do, REGARDLESS IF YOU FIGHT, you should get the "show money".
There is not (and should NEVER be) any contract where the fighter who made weight is obligated to fight the fighter who missed weight.
It has ALWAYS been the fighter's decision (the fighter who made weight, not the replacement's). And if he choses NOT to fight, then HE gets his show money and no one gets the "win" money.
But if there's a set replacement, I believe the fighter (who made weight) CANNOT simply choose not fight the replacement (since they knew they had a replacement). Refusing to fight should be a punishment on that fighter, not the replacement.
If he made the weight, she should get paid. As simple as that.
The problem here is that we all know hoe greedy the bald fuck is. He bullies the fighters into fight, and if they chose against it, they pay the consequences. What will he do? He's stuck in a contract. Most will do as Dana tells them. Others take their chances
