You show up on the day the job was supposed to be done, but they mismanaged things, and you can't get your job done because the electrician wasn't set up and good to go yet. You now cannot do the job because they didn't manage their contracts.

In this situation, you would almost certainly have gotten paid, but that's because you would have been the person writing and in control of the contract. The UFC, as the monopsony they are, is the one who controls your contract... ya know.. like an employee.

The ufc is likely vague in describing what constitutes show money. You know, so that way they’re not deemed a monopoly.

Right, they're not that by design, (and they don't even call it show money anymore, if they ever did). But they do have the position of setting market value and have used aggressive tactics to do so, which puts them in the position of being able to basically set the rules for everyone. So they functionally are a monopsony, even if not a monopoly.

Cuz of that, the only way to effect change is through workers affecting change. Which is why we applaud Wonderboy for trying to either force the hand on his case, which can set precedent for the future, or cause negative PR in the face of it.

What you mean yellow? Like I got a yellow? If I did I wouldn’t know what for. I don’t really even know the rules to getting yellows. I just try not to be a dick and have decent conversations with folks like you that don’t end up in insulting each other. But I realize they’re a monopoly but they don’t want the government making that classification which is why these lawsuits have already changed the contracts. The shitty part is the changes aren’t always for the benefit of the fighter. I think we agree overall tho.

If wonderboy didn't punk out then he should put it out publicly. Otherwise it's a bad look. Keep begging for that show money.

Could be why Dana is trying to get ahead of this and shit on Wonderboy. Looking at things as they are right now, with Garry having just beat Magny and a well ranked Wonderboy just getting past his own fight date he prepared for lining up together time-wise, and Wonderboy totally willing to fight downwards long as it's a striker who can make weight which Ian IS, then putting this fight together would be a no-brainer. Only person that would suck for is the promoter who doesn't want a hot prospect losing to a sharp but 'used over-the-hill product who is currently too big for their britches.'

So just say that Wonderboy didn't accept it so people won't follow up on it. And if people question you or he outs your bullshit, then just act like him not being a last minute fill-in to fight downwards means he doesn't want it and disqualifies him from it now

IMO, which may be wrong, the Thompson family are experienced competitive fighters who carefully plot a possible path to the belt for an aging fighter by choosing a few fights they think he can win, and possibly, they don't think he can beat Garry. Maybe.

Which is too bad because that's a fight I'd like to see.
