Missing weight Is cheating now? Wtf
dumb-and-dumber-uh.gif

If you do not follow the rules, what is it called? WTF?

Yeah, it seems fishy. Wonderboy even mentioned Ian Garry in his most recent interview with Ariel as a name he'd be open to fighting. I'm thinking he might be on Dana's bad side after refusing to fight an overweight Michel Pereira and then publicizing that he wasn't paid. So now he's getting the "this guy doesn't wanna fight" treatment.
There’s nothing to publicize it isn’t news. He’s just whining as usual. Nobody gets paid to make weight. That’s not what show money is. Never has been.

acting like he’s protecting his precious number 1 contender status but in reality he’s a washed up gatekeeper that’s lost 4/7 of his last fights including KOd by washed up LW Pettis & molested by the human cpap machine belal

It could have been turned down for a thousand different reasons. Dana loves to negotiate by talking shit to the media as a way to put pressure on the fighter. I don't buy into that bullshit.

He should have fought Pereira or a replacement. People defending WB should stay home from work, demand payment and see what happens. The guy works 8 weeks a year and expects to play videogames for the rest of it. I do not get why people sympathize with him.

People who go to work, and the boss goes "Well, our computer systems are down, but you can still work by writing things down by hand" should go home and ask for their time back.

I doubt it. What probably happened was Wonderboy refused to fight Gary as a last minute replacement for his last fight and Dana hasn't asked Wonderboy to fight him with full notice since then. Typical Dana White bullshit.

What kind of organization are you running, when you stimulate fighters to not accept fights with overweight or replacement fighters?

The UFC wants to stimulate fighters to take fights. When fighting an overweight fighter, they get an extra purse. When fighter a replacement fighter, the replacement fighter got less time to be prepared.

How there are Sherdoggers out there who believe Dana over contract negotiations is baffling to me.

EVERY SINGLE TIME a fighter doesn't agree to everything in a fight contract, which includes more than just who the opponent is, Dana will without fail tell the public that he/she doesn't want to fight in order to put public pressure on the fighter to sign the contract that Dana wants them to sign.

For example: the UFC and Dillashaw "guaranteed" that Dillashaw wouldn't miss weight in a fight against DJ, but when DJ demanded that this so-called guarantee be written in the contract with consequences should Dillashaw miss weight, then the UFC suddenly couldn't guarantee anything and DJ said no; so Dana proceeded to go on a smear campaign against DJ and there are still Sherdoggers to this day who believe Dana's side of that situation.

Dana is horrendous at contract negotiations, because he has to resort to public slander when he doesn't have all the chips and leverage.

People seriously think Shavkat would beat Ian lol? How? Shavkat blocks punches with his face.

It's a sacrifice fight anyway..

Wonderboy shouldn't want that fight, he's like 40, he should only have a legend fight and retire.

The Garry fight would be unnecessary damage when he's about to retire anyway..
Then tell him to give up his ranking if has no intention of fighting legit contenders or grapplers.

I don't mind believing WB turned down this fight. it's not a good or fun match up for him and it certainly isn't a good fight to try to get one final title shot.

He fought down in the rankings against Holland and would have against Pereira too if he made weight. Don't believe the lies from Dana.

This is an employee scenario. WB is not an employee. As an independent contractor things may go different. And sure, some IC will still do the job and some will say that’s not In The contract. Contract disputes are pretty normal. This is just another.

UFC- Hey wonderboy, man I wish you would change your name. Anyway, you hear Garry? What do you think about that fight?

WB- You guys ready to pay me? No? (Hangs up phone)

UFC- hello, hello? Wonderboy? Hmmmm maybe they call him wonder boy because you wonder where he went

Dana- Wonderboy has turned down the fight.

They're really not though. It's "independent" by title only.

So ok, you're contracted to show up on a job site. You're a carpenter. You have to set up for the job which includes purchasing materials. You show up on the day the job was supposed to be done, but they mismanaged things, and you can't get your job done because the electrician wasn't set up and good to go yet. You now cannot do the job because they didn't manage their contracts.

In this situation, you would almost certainly have gotten paid, but that's because you would have been the person writing and in control of the contract. The UFC, as the monopsony they are, is the one who controls your contract... ya know.. like an employee.
