Don't put Volk on the same footing as O'Malley lol. He had 5 title defenses and has only ever lost one fight at FW. Champions pretty much always get rematches when they had that many defenses.

I don’t put O’Malley in the same vein as Volkanovski. You and me has had this conversation before when it comes Volkanovski, I just don’t subscribe to the title shot or immediate rematches without having a warm up fight for Volkanovski no matter his defenses. But it’s my opinion.

Of course he's gonna be next, shit we're lucky they didnt just do a Merab rematch and we actually got the Umar fight. I mean all things were looking like O Malley rematch with Ramadan, Merab not wanting to fight till March etc.

I get it from a business POV you either get the rematch with Merab which was a closer fight than Yan/Merab or you get Umar/O Malley which would be big. O Malley should have to fight Yan or Sandhagen or someone first but we know this is the fight game, he was the champ and a star and he's gonna get that special treatment.
