Media Dana White buys Joe Pyfer a house

You can tell he really really didnt want tot touch the topic, he knows some of the butt hurt roster will cry about it.

Honestly, if I made it to the UFC, I would absolutely want to be paid via house. All fucking day long, stack them homes.

Yeah, the nerve of those silly fighters who are subjected to a revenue split that would be illegal in boxing, denied in cage sponsors, denied a percentage of promotional sponsors that they are forced to rep and, in many cases, have been insulted and buried by Dana for no valid reason getting angry about totally arbitrary and selective favoritism being meted out to people who've accomplished nothing in the sport.

What kind of message does this send? "We can't give extra bonuses. It'll fuck up our budget". "Here kid! Here's a fucking house!"

PPV bonuses are actually lower than they were a decade ago, not even accounting for inflation.

So every pay check you earn is still technically your employers? because that's where you got the money from? You can't call it your money? Bottom line being he did not dip into the UFC budget to do this..

His actual majority wealth comes from the liquid equity he owned in Zuffa earning him $360 million when it sold to WME/Endeavor.

He got that equity in the company for doing in part helping to keep fighter pay as low as possible for as long as possible so that the deal was as attractive as possible for investors looking for big returns.

It’s largely why it sold for $4 billion - the profit/revenue split with the workers is so grossly unequal the margins are insane for high returns for investors.

But I get it.

I'm trying to figure out if there's some larger game Dana's playing with his selective favoritism. Pyfer is far from the only promising prospect to come off the CS, yet Dana's already in love with him after two can crushes.
No larger game, Dana just wants fighters to actually fight, to go out there and take that opportunity to give it your all. He doesn't want fighters to win, he wants fighters to perform.

The title of the video and this thread says that Dana bought him a house, but nowhere from that timestamp in the video does Dana or the interviewer say that. He asked if he got him a house. Got, not bought, and there's a pretty big difference.

The way the conversation went makes it sound like Dana just got this guy a place to stay and paid the rent for a month or two, not that he outright bought him a house lol.
More likely a lease/a paid up term length of rent. But either way big deal to a fighter trying to make it not having to worry about housing for a while.

Could buy the entire roster houses and still have plenty of money lol

Good thing to do for someone that has very little though, either way

Fighters give each other CTE for a living, they don't deserve that kind of generosity

Where does it say he bought him a house?

Heres Pyfer's quote

“I told (Shelby) I need to talk to him, because I need to thank him, because he gave me a home for a year,” Pyfer said. “He gave me money on the side of Contender. And, really, that secured me being able to have a place to live for the next year, on the house of Dana.

that sounds like they put the kid up and paid his rent for a year not bought him a house.

Did he actually buy him a house or put some rent down for a year on a place?

I didn't read the entire thread so I don't know if it's been answered yet, but Pyfer said Dana got him a house for a year, so I'm guessing Dana got him a rental with a 12-month lease.

Why not? He is easily marketable
i don’t really think he’s marketable whatsoever, at least not as more than a viral instagram post. he’s not particularly charismatic and he’s not a high level fighter (yet at least) so i don’t know where you get that idea.

Dana's on a roll recently with his charitable acts, its probably got something to do with the ongoing antitrust case.

Dana White privilege.

And these are the kind of guys currently being signed by the UFC: brawlers of the street with no work experience, 17 year olds, NFL retirees, and one dimensional kickboxers.

UFC is really filling out its roster nicely.

<{danayeah}>
Do you morons actually watch the show or you just talk out of your ass?

Just this week they signed Nurullo Aliev, a 22 year old amateur MMA world champion, combat sambo Asian champion and 7-0 as a pro. He looks as good as Khabib potentially.

Raul Rosas. A 17 year old MMA prodigy with BJJ skills that could submit anyone in BW division. 7-0 as a Pro already.

Jafel Filho- 14-2 as a pro with 9 submission wins. Definitely a another one dimensional kick-boxer, lol.

Bruno Ferreira and Austen Lane are also both very well rounded experienced MMArtists.

Bo Nickal is fighting next week.

DWCS definitely has had the best available talent outside of UFC this season on their show

lol of course he is.
This is a massive PR campaign.
Spend a few hundred K, get millions back in publicity plus a huge ego boost.
Dana sure as shit isn't taking it from his own paycheck. It's marketing budget money.

By comparison, The cost to run a single TV ad during an NFL Sunday night national TV game is $800,000
This story will be milked for countless articles, future stories and promo pieces to fight against having to pay the whole roster more and create even more bullshit fiction about Dana White, a perpetual lying cheater scumbag, as some great human being.

If the UFC was meritocratic whatsoever and actually judged talent, then Aliev and Filho should have been signed directly and paid a full wage for their fights with a chance for a bonus, not a 5/5k DWCS fight with no bonus on an obscure telecast nobody watches outside the hardcores

salty ass couch warriors in this post hahaha I knew it was coming.

Bunch of vultures that can't wait to hate on a dude homeless, not a pot to piss in, taking a shot, and experiencing success.
What?
Everyone is hating on Dana, not the homeless white-hope guy with decent boxing with a wide stance that will eventually get leg-kicked into bolivian.

I wonder why Dana has such a hard on for this dude. I’ve never seen the UFC hype machine get behind such a mediocre fighter and want them to succeed so badly.
Homeless ginger dude with an abuse story to tell and a brawler style is their wet dream.

The funny thing is this dude fought 5 times for free as an amateur.
