Lol seems like the UFC and most people haven't learned a thing from the Silva vs Weidman rematch or any other pointless and countless immediate rematches.

Maybe she beats the curse

I cant think of anyone else who has but I am sure it has happened

We still have no idea why Nunes performed like a C level fighter last night. Was it one night off, bad weight cut, incomplete training camp, no trainee camp... Do you still pick Nunes to beat Penna, or is Nunes done for some unknown reason to us?
nunes is closer to a c level fighter remember that the best win she has is GDR who is really old. Everyone nunes fought is a granny (holm, GDR) Over the hill (Ronda, Cyborg) or just plain trash (spencer, anderson) She fights someone young, hungry, capable and close to her age she loses.

come one man. she beat Cyborg to the punch. Cyborg has never lost a round to anybody yet.

It depends on Nunes' motivation and smarter strategy for the rematch. If Nunes shows up the same, with little respect for Pena, throwing overhands and willing to eat shots, she can lose again.

I liked that Pena stayed in close range and kept throwing short punches at Nunes to land more, regardless of technique, the pushing of punches. Nunes will have to set her strikes up better and keep punches shorter, so that the power will show.

I think that Nunes is the best fighter, her or Valentina, in WMMA history, while I don't rate Pena high, so going with the better fighter.

but cyborg is a can crusher who has no skill, She literally just beats up cans. Other than holm who again is old, cyborg hasn't beaten a half decent fighter in the ufc. The womans fw division is a joke. nunes isn't some AAA+ tier fighter. Fighters like Shevchenko, Rose, Zhang, and Joanna are better fighters than nunes. if nunes was scaled down to those weight classes she'd lose to any of those fighters.

We just saw Amanda try to out grapple Pena - I think she was trying to prove a point but it failed, she tried to blast out Pena but that failed too. Then when the going got tough she checked out - her own words.

Why would the second fight go any different, maybe get all cautious like in the Shevchenko defence. But Pena has champ's privilege now, the judges will score close rounds to the champ not a cautious challenger.

It's never "zero" chance. But claiming Nunes has never learned "striking fundamentals" is laughable. She's fought much better competition than Pena and up to the last fight destroyed all of them during her title reign. If you've watched her other fights she isn't always winging punches. In fact she beat Cyborg and Ronda with quick, straight punches. Were they lousy competition?

I have no idea what Cyborg and Ronda fights you watched, but I'm looking at them right now and those punches are coming from the next state over. They're punches you'd use against a heavy bag where you can just keep your hands at your waists when you around launching haymakers - and that's exactly how Nunes throws them. And yes, in those fights both Cyborg and Ronda were terrible competition. Ronda has always been awful (but her competition has been worse), and Cyborg got drawn into a foolish brawl and got caught.

Besides, what's the "much better competition" you're talking about? Pena wasn't on anyone's radar, but she was 6-2 in the UFC, with losses only to Valentina (something only Nunes had been able to (semi-)legitimately do) and GDR (who turned Nunes into a wrestler). Besides Pena, there was Anderson (3-3 UFC), Spencer (3-3 UFC), Holm (2-4 leading up to the fight), Cyborg (legit), Pennington (come on), Rousey (come ON)...

Nunes's best wins are Cyborg, GDR, and Valentina, all of whom I agree are better than Pena. But all three of those wins have a star next to them in my mind - fluke (Cyborg), lay and pray (GDR), 20 pound weight advantage/dubious decision (Valentina). She's labelled the "GOAT" because she's the best of the two worst divisions in the UFC, but she has never shown much actual talent beyond being a strong, hard-hitting, intimidating fighter.

Your revisionist history here is laughable. Rousey was considered the WMMA GOAT until she lost to Holm and Cyborg was considered the WMMA GOAT until Nunes destroyed her. She's beaten the best fighters there were to fight at 135 and 145 and none of them were "flukes". Debate the talent level all you want, but Nunes beat them all until this last fight.

You literally admitted that the competition Nunes faced, and beat was better than Pena so I'm not sure what you're arguing there.

Nunes takes the rematch easily if she takes the fight seriously.

I think Nunes can comeback, but she already had a suspect performance at BW against GDR.

The ufc does a lot of bullshit title shot rematches

This is one that is 100% appropriate to make

such a loser it only took you 20 minutes. Yikes. Seriously dude. get off your computer. its made you a pathetic bitch.
Chill out tough boy, doesnt help your point cursing at me.

Well the fact that she was as gassed as she's ever been in there after 1 round says she didn't train for this. The fact that she forgot how to move at all and just stood there slugging says she didn't train for this. Pena said she'd heard she didn't train for this and that after she said so on social media, Amanda finally showed up in the gym for a day. Dana seemed to think she didn't train for this either.

All indications are that she didn't train and that 1 round of grappling put her past her cardio limit. She was winning the standup until after the grappling. She had no cardio and hadn't drilled much, it looked like. All I saw was that she was still strong, so she may have lifted weights?

But she doesn't appear to have trained for this or taken it seriously. I think a few fighters would have beat the version of Amanda that fought on Saturday. Valentina would finish that version of Amanda.

Peña.
Did Anderson win his rematch? Did Fedor go right back to winning? Did Barao? Aldo?
Amanda’s time is likely done. That’s the way it goes. She might get some more mileage fighting subpar competition for her FW belt, but I don’t see her being BW champ again.
I mean Stipe beat DC.

I don’t see any real good reason to favor Pena.

its terrible for a fighter to prepare and perform like this. now everybody smelled blood. maybe nunes just had enough and wants to end all.
