“When he got here, the doctors took care of him, and they put him on prednisone, which is a nasty f*cking steroid,” White told MMA Junkie.” So he’s on prednisone, and he’s supposed to be taking this thing and chilling, relaxing, and letting himself recover. He went in and f*cking trained today, felt like sh*t, and got super emotional and posted that.

“He’s not supposed to be training, but you know, this guy’s a savage. He wants to fight like every f*cking weekend, and now he can’t even train, so he just got emotional and posted that, but he ain’t quitting.”

Chimaev’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, did not immediately reply to a request for comment by MMA Junkie. However, White said he spoke directly with Chimaev and said he still believes the Chechen-born fighter will make his return to the octagon in June.

It was just odd to see the news then scroll down and see so much hostility. Figured he was a well liked guy and the subject is touchy so it would be a bunch of get well soon post. Sucks that he's out after 2 fights and shit loads of potential but the man gotta stay alive.

yeah would like your comment if i wasnt out . Gotta be careful here people are quick to jump down your throat and the vast majority(with many notable exceptions) dont listen to reason or engage well in debate (not only here just look at the war room haha). It was too much when everyone was calling you names and saying you should be banned and shit . Sherbro's just be like that sometimes but damn if there aint top notch shit posting here haha.
 
Returning in June? Let the guy heal his body. They shouldn't even be thinking about him fighting.

If true, I hope it’s because Chimaev, himself, made the choice to return and not because of some deal/incentive with Dana White...

If he doesn’t feel comfortable competing or isn’t 100% committed to a return then it would be safer for him to just stay retired. MMA isn’t something that you should be doing half-heartedly...

Yeah, I guess we’ll see how this story unfolds.
But you know the internet, some people have to troll and look for attention, some have to turn it into a political thing. Some are good posters who say the wrong thing at the wrong time.

No matter what someone thinks about COVID, this type of shit is sad. My gf’s uncle was drafted by an MLB team to play for them years ago. He had a baseball card made and everything for his rookie year. Then he got cancer. He overcame the cancer, but missed his shot to play baseball, and that was his dream. He was never the same. I can’t imagine what it’s feel like to work so hard to achieve your dream and have an illness snatch it away from you.
 
Between this thread and the other, it perfectly displays why instant reactions and being the first to react is a fucking waste of time and effort. That said, hopefully this turns out to be the accurate one.

Blood on the bathroom sink isn't a good sign. If he returns, it's probably around next year. The damage covid did to him was goddamned awful...

He was “on track” to fight a few times already. Then he still wasn’t better when the fight was a few weeks away. June is months away, so if we continue to assume that he’ll kick this virus like it’s the common cold, then sure, he’s “on track” for any date you want.
