Fought on April 13th and wanted him fight beginning of June, that's no break in-between two months turn around, was smart for him to say no at the time.

he wouldnt have had a 12 week camp or sometething, but definately ENOUGH to fight Islam. a guy he already fought before and knows what Islam brings. There are no secrets to Islam's skills.
he declined a title fight with enough preperation time, maybe not perfect but definately doable. Most champs fight twice a year. declining such an opportunity is kinda stupid.

so first he declines a granted rematch title fight and then he pulls out a granted rematch title fight..... 24 hours before fight time and putting the main event in jeopardy. He definately needs to fight his way back up. take another contender fight the least. he already lost to Islam anyway and should have jumped on the opportunity or not pull out and fight with back pain.

I think it was a bad weight cut vs an actual back injury. Kidneys can get messed up in a weight cut and the pain will be felt in the back.

Jean Silva is undefeated in the UFC and fought 3 times in 2024.
If he takes 3 fights this year and wins by KO, he deserves the title shot over Arman.
