No argument there. But along the same vein we can argue that, if he beats Song, he's also more likely to face Yan next, for the same reason.

I would predict the UFC would give him another crack at Petr Yan before Umar, especially if Sean gets a TKO/KO and Umar gets a hug heavy decision in their next fights. Whether it's warranted is a whole other question.

I wonder whose dick the matchmaker has to suck to get O'Malley vs Sandhagen to happen. They've had a potential classic just sitting there for years. Have them fight for a title eliminator and either way they can have an American challenge for the belt and we get to see one of them move on to fight Yan. I guess it wouldn't line up perfectly now, but they've been able to get it done for years.

People should be prepared for O'Malley to get the next title shot against Petr Yan, especially if O'Malley gets an impressive (T)KO win against Song Yadong.

I'm not saying I agree with this, because I don't. But Dana White himself said about Arman "I don't give a shit what the number says", in regards to Arman being left out of the UFC 155 interim title fight, despite being ranked #1. Merit is out the window in the UFC.
