Dana: Gustaffson could be possibly next for Cormier

Damn I wanna see both them fight for the title. If they fight one drops out of his position. I like the lil nog/Gus and Davis/cormier

I tend to agree. in addition, all his top oppenents have been big, slow graplling guys. We've never seen Cormier handle someone with the speed, boxing, footwork and cardio Gus has. The fact that Gus is much younger than all his other opponents and rapidly improving doesn't help his cause either. Could really be a bad match-up. We'll see.
 
Cormier is not striking against big slow heavyweights anymore. Easy fight for Gus. I would prefer Machida to get the fight, though.

I agree. Not to mention Cormier is already 34 and if he loses he may never face Jones after all or only after being well past his peak. Given how much damage Jones takes, it could take over a year before the winner fights Jones. The loser will likely have to wait another year at the very least. Cormier may be irrelevant at that point.

So they should give Daniel an immediate title shot, imo. He's an undefeated HW after all and has plenty of hype, so it's a kind of superfight. Plenty of bad blood between them to market this match-up as well.

It's not his fault though.
He entered the UFC on a zillion fight win streak, and they kept putting him against gatekeepers. Bader was solid.
 
Gus will get slammed from sky high. Cormier was trying to get Nelson airborne but only Roys low center of gravity and the girth of his prestigious belly saved him. By comparison Gus would be like chucking a toothpick around. I don't want to see this fight happen if it means Gus won't get his rematch with JBJ first.

Or the alternative is to put Cormier in there with the next guy behind Gus (Tex). Then Gus can get his rematch and we'll have Cormier in there against the winner of them.
 
Stupid and short sighted idea. They are the only two guys left for Jones at LHW. They sometimes do the same thing at WW by letting all contenders knock each other out.

Thats the fight right there. Id have to take gus with his insane footwork, reach, speed and boxing, but comier will definitely make it interesting.
 
Nah, not interested. Cormier vs Davis would be better, IMO.
 
I like Davis v Cormier better. Gus v Jones rematch is a must. Though I like Alex's chances against Cormier.

It was a close fight between him and Jones is why. I mean fuck Penn got an instant rematch against Edgar
 
People who thinks DC will win vs. Gus are dreaming big. DC looked bad vs. BC...Gus will pick him apart. He has no gas...
