Dan Henderson is much older than Fedor and had more mileage, more fights, damage when he KO’d him

Fedor had One submission loss, was many years younger, and had many less fights than Hendo.

How can anyone say that Dan fought a washed up or old Fedor?

Dan was the old guy in that fight!

The more shopworn veteran.

The only thing you’ve accomplished here was that you exposed the fact that you weren’t watching mma when Fedor was in his prime. Because anybody that was would never post stupid shit like this.

These threads are always started by stupid people.

There are no rules about when a fighter is or is not in his prime. Some fighters peak early, others peak late.

There are many factors that determine this, not just fight mileage (of which Fedor had much more, considering his Sambo background), but also genetics, training methods, motivation, fight style, punch resistance, etc…

Fighters like Ninja Rua might flame out very quickly, while others like say a Bernard Hopkins peak late and have extremely long careers.

Fedor fans were already talking about him being past his prime when he was beating guys like Brett Rogers and Andrei Arlovski. He had clearly devolved into a headhunter by that point.

To pretend that Brett Rogers and Arlovski were somehow more legitimate threats to Fedor than Big Nog or Cro-Cop is retarded.

Fedor didn’t start losing to B-level fighters because he got exposed in America. He started losing because he wasn’t remotely close to being the same fighter he was in Pride.

Fedor fell out of prime shape and Canelo and Khabib say once ints gone it does not come back. They must notice that being elite themselves.

Good for Dan though, the guy is a beast.

Whenever a fighter losses his fans will say he's out of his prime, a perfect example would be 29yo Aldo getting starched by a much better striker in Conor McGregor

Yeah. Most can't just say they didn't fight as well, had an off night, the other guy was better, or something like that. It's as if they have to justify it to themselves somehow by claiming their favorite was not himself, hindered, handicapped, or in most cases: out of prime.

In some instances it's true. Like, if the guy was injured or something, but more often than not, MMA fans have a really hard time coping with their favorite being beaten. I've never seen a more emotionally invested fanbase. Granted, I don't frequent any forums other than Sherdog, but it seems fans of other sports don't carry this level of delusions and excuses so regularly.

Comparing mortal men to Dan Henderson is pointless.

They broke the mold after that one.

Fedor was 100% fully in his prime when he lost to Werdum, Hendo and Bigfoot.

It's because of the beatings he took in those fights that took away his prime.

this is correct.

I believe he was past his prime for the Rogers fight.

Dan Henderson has a 32-15 record
Fedor Emelianenko has a 40–6 (1) record

The standard is different. Fedor has almost 10 less losses than Dan does yet somehow Fedor is perceived as being worse?

Fighters age at different rates for sure. Besides, Dan has shown to be dangerous at pretty much any age. Even old Dan, right now, would have a chance against most fighters for one round.

Crazy how Dan and Fedor aged in a totally different way, almost like they're not the same person

Dan had more longevity than Fedor. He's like Randy in that sense, but even better as he fought much more. Looked like he peaked again in SF, knocking out Babalu and Feijao for the title, then beating Fedor and Shogun. Even after that he got KO's in the UFC in his 40's.

Fedor peaked early and had the historic 10-year-run, which is a long time to be on top, then looked past his best vs Rogers....

Thanks to TRT, Hendo had the testosterone levels of a 19-year-old wee lad in his best age.

Very convenient pick for you.

Unfortunately that's another fight that shows how overrated Fedor was and is.
Why did that fight show Fedor was overrated?

Rogers had just decimated Arlovski in a pure striking match.

Fedor knocked him out despite being shorter, not as long and out powered. If anything that showed how great Fedor was.
