Damo Marino's spindly apendages

Welshmen and Englishmen are pretty good rugby players too apparently lolol

Well, Englishmen being any good is debateable ;)
Only joking, they put 5 tries on us on the weekend.. Wales have been shit recently. And we're touring NZ this summer, and I'm not optimistic in the slightest. Although we'll be competitive, the northern hemisphere teams aren't up to your standard. Makes you wonder why we're bringing in southern coaches, eh.
England touring OZ will be a closer than Wales touring NZ.

Thanks for the apology man, I really appreciate it, oww is based on how some Māori live, I jumped the gun because a lot of people glamorise the life/ scenes in the movie, if you can find them try 'turangawaewae', 'whale rider' and 'utu'
I can remove the pic if you like mate? It's your log after all. Infact now you mention it, I have also seen Whale Rider, also a good movie.

Southern hemisphere game is completely different to Northern, Northern is really old school, I have a soft spot for Wales, you guys will give the AB's a good crack, they're less 8 of their previous stalwart players, the coming season will be a proving ground for both Oz and NZ, I've got a feeling the poms are gonna run over the ozzys...we'll see

Nah, it's all good, I'm just happy we could have a to and fro about it, you could have also quite easily said 'na fuck you' lolol

Friday Gi class: Woke up late and walked onto the mat late too, not proud of it but also quite weary. Black belt running the show today, warm up run and careoca, two*each: over shoulder roll, shrimp forward and back, granby forward and back, alligator walk. I managed half of the above at a super casual pace. Took this pace into randori, don't feel sore and didn't hurt anyone either.

Tech was sweep from half:
Be in half your left knee shielding, if you cant get to an under-hook reach across to uke arm right pit, right hand to uke left ankle, invert and push right foot deep, everything stays tight, left arm moves to control same arm as arm pit control, continue with inversion until upright keeping all grips and staying tight, you should now be in a good arm bar position. This BB's game is super tight half, good to learn, feel when I hit the other sweep he taught us from deep half it's really effortless, they also seem to work really well on heavier opponents.

Advices from my new mate from previous entries, will now refer to him as Auckland: plan whether I'm going to be tight or create distance, being long legged distance might be a good game for me, can 'close-line' grips to free, can reach across and grasp thumb meat of grips to free, don't let standing opponent get knee grips, you will be fucked, if you're standing get knee grips and use long step to pass, once in tight good cross face pressure comes from closest shoulder, dont let opponent get this kind of head control, you will be fucked, if you have this also get your knee to uke arm pit, if in uke half stabilize this knee on floor and use that foot to push on uke thigh, step trapped leg out of half for mount, don't be too cautious.....but don't be a cunt..........switch hips to get space........the basics
Feels: Mr hundy bundy will take a back seat to my aches and pains.
Also don't wanna be known as datch gai, also want to be a good partner, also want to learn all the things, people already have preconceptions and their own lens', don't want to influence negatively, will run out of partners until I get to fellow munters........cumulative embarrassment will keep me up at night lolol, other homies also lent advices, old lion is back in the house from holiday, good to see, could have rolled like this all day.................

Inverted triangle from shit positions seems like it could work well..............

And this

'When you fight people with lesser skills and confidence, smaller and weaker, you have to adjust to that and play more defensive game. Instead of attacking let them attack, take grip and take you down. When they get more confident fighting you only then you can start carefully attacking and taking them down.

If I take a beginner and smash him that won't gain me anything in my practice. Mutual welfare and benefit.'

Tuesday
Bike needs tuning, chain is smashing derailleur.
Few press-ups and egg beater, jog, pummel, single leg to trip, smashing arms against uke and waist clinch works well against single arm drag.
Tips from old lion judoka: use upa in reverse to draw arm in and isolate, gift wrap arm and under-hook posted leg if necessary, roll onto self for back take and can also switch to arm bar.
Randori was mellow, feel really caught up wanting to go hard and it's really disheartening not using some athleticism.

Breah not in................

Went back at 11 to kick bag.
Feels greeeaaaaaaat.
Reminder to stay shirted, also did bridge, also kitten weak as haven't done any challenging upper body push or pull.

What hurts? all, all hurts.

Focus on one of or combination of the following plus previous class' technique in each Randori session:
View media item 24047
Flower sweep

Find method to marry/ build up to goal of 1hr rolling changing partners every 3 min.
Maybe modify condit sessions to 3 minute rounds w 30 sec break.
IE: do one 3 min of specific exercise, 30 sec break, do one 3 min of specific exercise, 30 sec break.

Gi Jitsu

Even after my morning routine I'm 2kg heavier...........

Slight bridge, arm bar and omoplata drill w partner, lucky day as partner is Mr Brown. Mr brown showed details for both, hips tight, bottom leg high on back, hips always up, no need to switch hips for omo, just swing bottom leg away.

Tech, sweep when opponent tries to pass/defend omoplata:
1) If uke looks to jump over block hips by raising arm and roll with and mounted triangle.
2) If uke looks to roll through use free hand to underhook legs and kick down, roll to own back and pull up to side control.

Big bois pull le turtle often looking to practise defend, here's a revisit of back attack:
1:Start on uke's back sitting with seatbelt, roll uke to non over hand side, uke strips bottom hook, drive knee into shoulder and get hips on top of uke, pull to other side, get hook back in, back and forth for five min each.
2:Start knee on belly off left side, uke shrimps, big step over head onto left and collapse onto hip into pin, get seat belt, uke scrambles to knees and turtles, left leg overhook uke right calf and pull, right knee drives down to uke right knee and push, pull uke onto side getting both hooks in.
