Technically non premidated murder (called 2nd degree in most states) is 2 to 20 years so 10 isn't that shocking or bad.

She basically got 5x the minimum on 2nd degree and 2x the minimum if it was a capital murder charge

Yes, but I don't think that a woman who is so racist that she was willing to murder someone simply because of their ethnic background, as has been implied, is going to be sexually involved with a dark-skinned Latino cop. She dealt with other races every single day. It's a diverse area she lives and works in. What exactly happened, only she knows, but I don't believe it was due to racism.

Yeah it's classified as a 3g offense so the absolute minimum is 5 years before she can put in a junction to get parole.
