Cyril Gane shows off his leaping ability

Rare fight where I'll actually be watching. I hope Ganes pieces Jones up with some real heavyweight power. Fully expect Jones to try wrestling x running and point fighting though. Hope he gets caught with a few 1,2s and put out. One may hope yeah?

Vertical jump is a good way to judge athleticism. Randleman (RIP) and BJ Penn were known for their vertical jump.

You can also see why Paul brothers do well in combat sport (around 12:13).

Looking at how Jon looked at the weigh in and how athletic Gane is, Jon might get massacred
Jon is looking to wrestle, he focused just on bulking and strength conditioning. The question is if he's strong enough and how long can he keep that type of fight with his new frame. This will be the first time he is really testing his new body out going 100% in a fight. He's also never fought anyone as big as Gane ever. Lots of questions will be answered tomorrow.

I hope Gane wins, but the ability to dunk a basketball has absolutely nothing to do with MMA.

Americans obsession with the "big three" American sports (football, basketball, baseball) and comparing them to all other sports in the world, no matter how incredibly different, is amusing and makes them look quite delusional.

Dunking is a very relevant skill in combat sports. Heres a picture of Nate Robinson in the NBA dunk contest he won.

Here is him taking a nap after a hard night of combat superiority.

Well then, it's a good thing that "UFC" stands for "Ultimate Leaping Championship." I don't feel nervous about having bet my house on Cereal now. Phew!

Gane has to show killer instinct without too much anger. Has to not make mistakes like going for heel hooks when he's arguably ahead. Being nice is cool and all, but when fighting there should usually be some amount of disdain and contempt for the opponent when they are obvious dirt bags like Jones. Gane has something to prove. I hope he approaches it with a real warriors mindset to finish Jones.
