custom winning gear.

Rakuten used to respond to emails last year...haven't responded to a single one of mine this year...big drop off in customer service.

It's been a mixed bag for me. They responded quickly when I ordered and needed my confirmation though.

and Winning does not give away free gear to anybody. This has been confirmed.

Based on their customer service I'm not surprised. Plus with all the pros using it, I don't think they need to advertise either. But if they did, their sales would skyrocket.

Mine should be finished by the end of this week if everything goes well.

If ordering from rakuten and choosing your own colors, how long does it take approx?

Red/gold, don't worry I will post pics. Btw I think that facebook page is from Steve, they are posting lots of standard winning pictures. I'd be cool to see some custom ones.

One of the fans obviously checks out this thread, as most of the recent pictures are from here.

Definitely. There is actually not many sources of these pictures on the internet, tough to find.
On the other hand the particular fan might has posted several pictures in this thread :)

Haha yeah I've noticed when I did a search for winning, sherdog threads always pop up.

Hi everyone,

First, I have to say that this is an amazing site and I've really valued your posts when it comes to how gear should fit, colours, etc.. I'm a boxing novice you could say that is looking to continue training not because I'm going to try and make amateur or anything, I simply love the workout it gives you, the extra confidence and most of all how engaged and fascinating I find the sport to be both intellectually and physically. That being said, I'm looking to invest in some quality Winning gear as I'm in this for the long haul and I would rather spend big bucks for quality gear that lasts, rather than buying 2 or 3 shitty sets of gear that break down.

First of all I'm 6'2 tall and weight around high 190 to low 200 pounds on any given day. I'm looking for a pair of gloves for sparring and another pair to hit the bags/mitts with. Since most of you currently own Winning gear, I would much appreciate your opinion on which glove sizes to get for each scenario. The sparring would probably be lace-ups becuase a partner could always help me out and the bag/mitt gloves would be velco so if I'm alone I can still put them on.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks and cheers :)

Personally i use 16oz lace ups for sparring, winning is an awesome glove for sparring. Most trainers ive trained with require 16 oz+. On a side note its best both u and ur sparring partner use 16 oz gloves for protection. I also use 12oz velcro gloves on the bag and the mitts for ease of use. I personally prefer a firmer, denser glove on the bag, but thats all just personal preference. Choose what YOU would want. Going with Winning on a bag is perfectly fine, its all just preference :)
