custom winning gear.

Just asked Steve to do something really different with Winning gloves...
I'm really hoping they can do it

Honestly, no. Don't they look same as custom gloves page from rakuten?

The Rook and the Knight in the screen print?

With the Rook and Knight, you can tell what stance I am.

But it's the triple cuffs. I'm pretty sure they're able to print designs, but I'm looking forward to hearing if they'll do triple cuffed gloves :)

I wasn't a member on this site until today. But I got a lot of great info on this thread about custom winning gear and I just received my order so I thought I'd join the community and share pictures of my new gear.

On an unrelated note, I noticed there were several questions earlier in the thread about how long it took Rakuten to charge your credit card ... for me, they took quite a while (even after I had confirmed my order). I can't remember exactly how long but maybe even a couple of weeks.

Since I had custom embroidery done with a custom logo, it did take quite some back and forth to get everything just right. Even then, I had hoped the clover would have been a bit smaller. But I can't fault Winning for this. They did an amazing job all things considered.

To get this all done I used some crude photo editing for parts of it and then just described in words what I could edit into the pic. Below is the image I sent them compared to what I got sent in return.

WOW!

Great looking gear O'leary~!!!

Did you order direct through Winning?

If it's any consolation Irish, I think that clover looks the perfect size. Awesome gear, congrats!

Thanks. I'm happy with it. I wish the gold under the palm were a little more yellow but I'm still happy with it.

I ordered through Steve at Rakuten. He was really good about everything. It did take quite a while (going back and forth with the guys at Winning ... checking to see if they could do it). But I'd say all things considered the service was very good.

Good to see your gear came out good! Looks like they do custom logos with embroidery well.

Sounds like we did everyone a service by trying out Rakuten.

How did you get those pictures? How do you turn them into any color you like and stuff?

Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator or Microsoft Paint. Add words, draw pictures or change the colors yourself.

Southpaw?

Now you know what they are capable of, you can draw a better rook and knight if you want.

That is the best colour combination I've ever seen on Winning gear.

Insanely jealous right now, but thank you for joining and posting!

Thanks BD, I can't take any credit. I was just trying to copy Notre Dame's colors. I like the Blue/Gold (Green) combo. I agonized over every aspect of this decision (lace up vs velcro, FG 5000 vs F2900, Gold on the headgear ear pieces or not, etc). So I'm happy to hear someone else likes the look besides me! ha ha

WOW they look amazing!!! Congrats on your purchase! Im jelly!!!:D

Not the greatest pic, but my 16ozs just came in today! I wanted to get something significantly different from my other pieces of gear, which are all white. Not the greatest pic, but the lighting at my place sucks. (Sky Blue/Red/White with gold trim)

Ordered on Dec 18, so it took a little over a month with winter holiday delays. Padding is a bit harder than I expected and is significantly stiffer than my 10oz Winnings, which felt soft and broken in when first taken out of the box.

Protection is excellent, as would be expected from Winning. The hand pocket is about the same size as my 16 Reyes, but the Reyes fit much more snugly on the wrist. I can't wait to break them in. Definitely a great purchase, and Steve from Rakuten made the process very easy and pain free.

Costs came to around $383 after shipping, which is great, considering that stock gloves would cost around the same if ordered from Winning-USA. My card didn't get charged until my gloves were shipped.

Overall, ordering from Rakuten has been significantly easier and cheaper than going through Winning-USA. So thanks to whoever first discovered and bit the bullet on this site.

Man..these are beautiful!!!Congrats.

I love the golden trim.

Wow...these are so awesome it is unreal!!

I am having a huge dilema about which top of the line glove to buy. Next month I am going to break down and get some. Right now I was leaning towards trying the new Ringside Heritage, after seeing this I am thinking maybe some Winnings. I thought about Cleto Reyes, but most people say the thumb is uncomfortable. Thought about the Grant's but I don't want to jump through hoops to get them. Decisions, decisions...

Damn those are beautiful!! You guys in this thread are seriously raising the bar on custom gear.

So jealous right now. :icon_evil

Edit: Hey Fraggle what does the Kanji stand for?
