You know. Guys here getting Kanji tatooed on their arm. "Dragon" "Strength" "Love".

Haha. I would never get a tattoo period but honestly getting a screenprint of the kanji i do like on a glove is not a big deal.

It's the way you present it at times kshaft, can confuse us more than humour us. We still love you regardless.
 
I think majik is just holding out for the mike tyson tribal eye tattoo. SO FRIGGIN SWEET!
 
Haha well i can relate, you obviously can tell what nerd element of me is present from the kanji i like so much. For years i can't lose the love for it and how it's implemented in that series.

I have seen a Thai guy with ultra douchey in Russian slang.

Imo to put Kanji on your gear, unless one has got Japanese roots (or at least Chinese) like RaggleFraggle, is weird.
If one puts his Western name in Kanji it is very douchey.

see.... dragon... if you see some kanji on a dudes arm theres a good chance thats what it means. "Im a dragon man! Dont mess with me man! Im tough!" Unless maybe the tatoo guy put something like '***' or 'pussy' on the guys arm to mess with him.

Also "LUNCH" and "DINNER" on fingers.

Everything in Russian on Asian people.

Depends on confidence and personal preference. I'm very comfortable with putting a kanji even without japanese roots. I never really care about other's opinions about my opinion...especially over the net :P. Nothing wrong with it in my opinion. Spend money how you feel reflects your wants/needs best when it's all said and done.

Lol i never got that impression from anyone with a kanji tatoo/glove, just thought it meant you liked the culture or look
 
It's open to interpretation...why he would/should care about what you wear is beyond irrelevant unless you're related haha. Of course, if you asked for suggestions that is a different story, but you didn't so as long as you like it that's awesome to me. He's just expressing his opinion regardless and that is his prerogative, no big deal. Personally i think it's neat (my prerogative opinion).

My statement was concerning people getting tattoos in that regard. For the record, I like it on the glove. I think it looks good. I have no problems with that. Its appropriate in that context IMHO. And say if someone doesnt like it, well you put it up on a DISCUSSION FORUM for all to see and discuss it. Good or bad. Dont whine about someone criticizing it, when I wasnt even doing that. That just might be part of the discussion.

I think Shitzu gets what Im getting at. The tattoo thing writing stuff on yourself in a foreign language is a trendy nonsensical fashion. Theres a saying in the Special Forces (meaning Special Forces or Green Berets, not to be confused with Special Operations Forces which includes a lot of different units). The number of tattoos you have is inversely proportional to your success rate in getting through SFAS (or perhaps the Q course). I understand why they say this, and that reason is why I criticize such actions. Im not going to get into it unless you really want me to explain it and then just shoot me a PM.

I think your gloves look great so dont get all miffed. Id put Kanji on a sword... maybe on some gloves. Id put "left" and "right" for sure...

Umm...i don't think you read what i said. I have no problem with anything you were saying. I said you had a right to express your opinion...how is that whining? I've never whined about anything on sherdog...I couldn't be bothered to. Also I got what you were saying...it wasn't hard to comprehend.
