Curtis Blaydes has an analysis of Jon Jones' move to Heavyweight-and a warning

Jones annihilated Gus in the rematch with ease thus proving he really didn't take the first fight seriously at all. So what if they say he's the toughest fight they've had it still doesn't change Gus' resume. He obviously matched up well against both guys but was obliterated by every other top fighter he ever faced with the exception of Glover. You can't tell me a single top fighter he managed to beat aside from Glover. I don't want to hear about participation trophies.

You want me to do a fight finder assesment.
Similar to what you did to say Lewis is a top fighter while Rothwell a journeyman.
Sure, look at them fighting common opponents as Junior or Ivanov. Where is such gap?
Maybe you can come up with some fightfinder assesment to back up such statement but I don't care about that.

Anyways if you don't even realize that Gus is way washed up and far from his best at this point, that's pretty telling about your criteria lol

Gustafsson beat the current champ Jan btw

Jan lost to other mediocre fighters like Pat Cummins back in the day. Speaking of which, who was the last ranked opponent Rothwell beat? You'd have to go back 5 years to even find the answer. Lewis has been far more consistent and has been ranked very highly for years.

Gustafson beat him where he is best, unlike Cummins. This is the kind of thing your W/L approach doesn't even remotely grasp

Again, I have seen both Rothwell and Lewis fight Junior and Blagoi in recent years. That tells me more than your "bu bu but who is his best ranked win". There is no way Lewis is a legitimate tittle contender while Rothwell nothing but a journeyman, period.

Whatever we have completely different approach to the matter. For your approach I already have sherdog fight finder

I completely disagree. Ngannou has scary power. But I think Jones beats him or Lewis with ease. JBJ has fought a lot of guys with one-punch KO power (Cormier, Texeira, etc.) and has never really looked to be in dangers. And, heavy weights like Lewis and Ngannou are even slower and less accurate. Further, Jones has faaaaaaaaaaaaaar more reach, speed, skill, and grappling ability than Ngannou or Lewis. He would just ride those guys to an easy UD or late finish (partially due to those big, slow HWs gassing out).

Jarl

Ngannou is faster than Texeira and Cormier. Are we watching the same fights? lol Jones has never fought anyone remotely like Ngannou. Not one.

Been saying this for years. Jon is going to have problems at HW. Curtis is right if Jon gets some favorable match ups he can win fights cause he's a great fighter. But if he's matched up with other very good HWs, he's gonna have a tough time.

You really think HW in the UFC can take Jones down and land in a favourable position? HW fucking sucks

I think there is the exception in Curtis Blaydes that can, he's a pretty big man, very athletic and good wrestling.

But for Jones the issue isn't so much the wrestling as it is the striking. The big boys hit hard and will hit him not like he's use to. Jon has excelled and dominated opponents with his length, but we've seen him struggle vs opponents that match him in height and reach. Most of the top HWs are able to match him in that aspect, but have more power. You got a Dominik Reyes who landed hard shots many times, what do you think will happen if Francis Ngannou lands? Guys like Stipe, Volkov, Overeem, JDS are all tough fights for him.

Not saying he won't have success at HW, just there are guys up there that are going to make it very tough for him.

Jones has an amazing chin, yes HW hit hard but I don't think they are fast enough to get to Jones easily and his knee kicks will be tough on the HWs. I really think he can keep the control and distance with Ngannou just enough so he loses his power.

Can't wait for Jones in the HWs
