Curtis Blaydes has an analysis of Jon Jones' move to Heavyweight-and a warning

Fair Warning

what is the argument here? Van Halen's ALBUM "fair warning" is a fucking bad ass record and anyone who argues otherwise is a nincompoop with bitch tits.

advantage captain herb.

Not sure why people are trashing Blaydes.... If Ngannou didn't exist, he'd currently be champ right now. Stipe would get ragdolled and finished by Blaydes.

I'm not sure I would go that far but I could see Blaydes causing Stipe some troubles. That fight could be fantastic and no one mentions it whatsoever.

Blaydes IMO is the best wreslter in the division. Sitpe would have the stand up advantage, but I don't see the fight staying on the feet for long. I think Blaydes has the strength and technique to do what he did to Volkov to Stipe. And I think eventually he'd get the finish.

Whats the standard for "very good HW"?

Lets remind that Latifi gave HW tittle contender Lewis all he could handle and OSP arguably beat Rothwell, who fought Junior in a HW tittle elliminator

Bader is a HW Bellator champ who KOed Fedor with a jab... Irrelevant I know but what's the standard for very good HW?

Latifi and OSP had moments that kept em in the fight, but ultimately lost clearly.

Right now in the UFC it would be guys like Stipe obviously, Francis, Blaydes, JDS, Overeem, Volkov. The top guys right now and I would say Jon would have a tough time with them. I think there are some fights he could win there, but all those guys give him a tough time. And then you have HWs that haven't made it up the ranks yet but have a very good skill set to give Jon problems. Like a Sergey Pavlovich for example, big power puncher with great boxing and a big reach.

I think Jon has a tough time at HW cause of the fact that his boxing defense is iffy. Its very good when he can use his reach and range, but vs taller guys with longer reach he has more problems. That's what you get at HW with more power. Jon will get hit and when he does it could sting.

{<redford} I'm a Blaydes fan, if he gets past Lewis then maybe we will see that fight and I hope that you're right

His whole argument is “I’m heavier. Nah. I’m heavier”

Jones could obviously be competitive at heavyweight. He has every physical disposition to make the transition.

The fact that he hasn’t had the balls to is the problem with his legacy.

Been saying this for years. Jon is going to have problems at HW. Curtis is right if Jon gets some favorable match ups he can win fights cause he's a great fighter. But if he's matched up with other very good HWs, he's gonna have a tough time.

Jones vs Volkov would be interesting af.

Blaydes would destroy Khabib, purely on Blaydes being heavier. There's a reason there are weight classes.

It seems to me that Jones has struggled the most against guys who can at least come close to matching his length (Gustafsson I and Reyes). Probably half the heavyweight division matches that description, along with their greater mass. I would absolutely not be shocked if he lost to a random heavyweight, but on the other hand, I wouldn't be shocked if he was a force at heavyweight, either.

He’s talking like Jon Jones didn’t have two elite athletic massive brothers growing up. It’s not advice, he’s talking shit to the media, that’s not how you give advice.
