Cryptocurrency - a few tips from an old hand

Wtf is going on in the market??

Korean panic is over, Binance is taking on new registrations.....so why is everything in red??

Any tips for new crypto's to go for this month??

Keep calm and hodl. Don’t panic sell. Do buy at these dips.

This market bleed is partly cyclical (same pattern this time last year), partly Asian FUD driven, and amplified by the amount of new, somewhat jittery money that has gone in without research or conviction - just to make a quick buck.

My view? This too shall pass. If you believe in the long term potential of your coins, hold them, switch your pc off, enjoy life and check in after a week.

"Bitcoin and other digital currencies have always been volatile, so a big daily drop is not unusual. That said, Tuesday was a particularly ugly day for crypto investors as every major currency fell by anywhere from 15% to 28%."

I'm on the cusp of dipping a toe into the cryptocurrency market. Are countries about to lay the smackdown on cryptocurrency?

I just want to go in with eyes wide open.

China tried two months ago and failed. Korea thought about it out loud a couple weeks ago and then apologized because of the humongous backlash.

US just made it legally recognized as a security. In Japan it is legally recognized as an actual currency.

If China can't do it, aint no one able to. But "don't invest more than you can afford to lose" is a sage guideline to follow.

My portfolio has dropped roughly 60% over the past week or so lol. It's ugly to look at, but I see it as a great buying opportunity.

HODL!!!

What kind of opportunity was it when you paid 60% more than its currently worth? Its always a great time to buy it seems.

I should have been more specific. I'm still profitable overall, but am down 60% where my wallet was when this red doom started. Have cashed out my initial investment plus a healthy profit since I started investing.

Not sure if you invest or not but it's definitely not always a good time to buy

BitDegree is going very low...do you still think it's worth getting some?
Also, what do you think of NEO? It's the only one going up now apparently.

I just bought 5000 in DADI, yes the same DADI that copied thier whitepaper and has dodgey dealing. WTF was I thinking? Haha

Having some doubts today, whether to buy more XRB or BDG. XRB is going strong, and (allegedly) the Binance deal is going to be announced soon. However, with BDG i'd be buying at 20% discount of what i previously bought.

Totally up to you. I’m holding onto mine - I take a longer term view.

Yes what were you thinking! Lol. To be fair, you just never know.

As a follow up, Russia has just officially stated that it feels that banning cryptocurrency is impossible, so instead it has decided to keep it legal. There's articles if you want to find the statement (I didn't save it, so not linking it).

I think most can see how this cements crypto as something that isn't going away. If Russia says it wont/cant ban cryptocurrency, it really makes other countries now look egregious for even hinting that they might.

Did you guys see the announcement from Starbucks that they plan on accepting crypto currencies but they won't be taking Bitcoin.

I think they're waiting until one rises above the rest as a legit usable currency.

It actually didn't though, I forgot you need to go over board with the gas these days to actually get buy in an ICO. A blessing in disguise probably, I think it will go up but there are much better investments to put my money in.

LMAO... Der Fraudsbar NEVER takes a loss.

Perhaps you should consider the things your old friend Luminaire has to say after all.

China and India are trying to lay the smackdown on Bitcoin again and the markets are freaking out.

"The People’s Bank of China (PBOC) last September banned fundraising through digital currencies, labelling 90 per cent of the initial coin offerings (ICOs) launched in China as fraudulent."

"LONDON (Reuters) - Bitcoin, the world’s largest cryptocurrency, skidded 11 percent on Thursday to its lowest since November, as a Facebook ban on cryptocurrency adverts and a growing regulatory backlash against the nascent market frightened investors."
