Cris Cyborg has signed with UFC says Tweet

Cyborg/Rousey would be the only WMMA fight worthy of headlining an event. Co-main could be Tate vs Holm for next title shot.

Yeah, but it's not like she has anyone else to fight. They could do a catchweight, or offer Cyborg x amount of money to make 135. It's getting to the point where it needs to happen, for both fighters.

Cyborg can't keep fighting at 145 because there's no competition. Rousey can't keep claim to be the GOAT without beating Cyborg.
 
I think they are just trying to prolong it as much as possible. Wait until age is playing a factor. They did this with Wanderlei and others that they want NOT to win.

I hope you realize they are almost the same age and there's no guarantee Cyborg will decline earlier than Ronda... Ronda might have more wear and tear from judo even.

They can be almost the same age.
However, strength , quickness , cardio and mindset are all age relative. Rousey's skillset and style will keep more of an edge over time, than Cyborgs will.

Its pretty obvious to me, who gains an advantage over time here.

The ufc has done this a lot.

Hopefully if they fight it's at least at catch-weight. Don't have much interest in this fight unless Cyborg is at full strength. A weak and dehydrated Cyborg isn't one I want to see fight Ronda.

Ronda would have done far worse in the same situation, it has zero impact on a Ronda/Cyborg fight.
 
I still think she'll have a warmup fight at 135 with a top five-10 to be sure she'll make weight which will do two things. Give them a chance to really gage how strong she is at 135. Two this will see if she "moves needles" and has a good following, which will determine if she'd fight Ronda sooner or later.

It's funny when people say that kickboxing bout means anything in an MMA fight. If Ronda actually grew a pair and tested herself in pure BJJ (Like she claimed he could) she would get dominate the same way, probably even submitted.
