I still think she'll have a warmup fight at 135 with a top five-10 to be sure she'll make weight which will do two things. Give them a chance to really gage how strong she is at 135. Two this will see if she "moves needles" and has a good following, which will determine if she'd fight Ronda sooner or later.
Finally. It is annoying that the UFC claims Ronda to be the best female fighter when she never faced Cyborg.

This. IF it happens then we know Ronda is legit, win or lose
Cyborg is not going to be the test a lot of people think she will be. I think Ronda runs through her pretty easily. But if this is true AND if the fight happens then we will see soon enough.
Cyborg should fight Tate. It's the only warm up that makes sense. It will solve a couple of questions. If she beats Tate shows she can make 135 and is still the legit fighter everyone thought she was.
It will solve the problem of what to do with Tate. Right now Tate is the female version of Benson. Crushed by the champion twice, and beating everyone not named Ronda. As it stands she's in limbo. If she goes out and beat cyborg she deserves another title shot. If she loses she can fall down the ladder. It won't change the current situation. Right now she's not getting a title shot. If Cyborg beats Ronda, she will be getting an automatic rematch; So Tate will have to wait anyway.
Ronda would have done far worse in the same situation, it has zero impact on a Ronda/Cyborg fight.
Why doesn't Cyborg have to prove herself? Especially at 135 a weight she has never made. What is so impressive about Cyborgs resume that everyone is willing to give her a pass? Well besides a collective Rousey hate.
I agree. Cyborg just bum rushes women who aren't very good. That's literally her whole gameplan.
Also, people don't realize how little fights she's had. Ronda has honestly proved more than her.
Ronda has 11 fights in 4-years.
Cyborg has 14 fights in 10-years.
She barely fights, she's gonna be off the juice, and the weight cut will be brutal.
If you ask me, Zingano is actually a tougher challenge seeing as she's been fighting at the weight class (which has a lot more talent than 145) and her skill set matches up better.
The fact that when cyborg fights its like "who let that dude in the ring? He's blasting that poor chick".
Her mechanics just seem more vicious and fluid than other WWMA fighters, who, even when technical, they don't appear like they grew up caving in faces, whereas Cyborg fights like a chick that was raised in a men's prison someplace in South America.
While I don't believe any of that is a valid argument based on anything of substance. It is a better response than I was expecting, so thank you?
The UFC won't want to risk Cyborg losing before getting to Rousey. And she very easily might if forced to fight someone like Tate. They will put her right against Rousey, make a fortune, and be done with it before reality catches up to the illusion of how good Cyborg actually is compared to how good people think she is. JMO anyway
Lets see if the UFC is smart has has Cyborg fight somebody else first, to introduce her to the causal fans, before they rush the Rousey fight.
Well, she's not known for her stand-up, that's Cybrog's world. The equivalent would be Rousey losing a grappling match to some other girl.
It's just my opinion, it's less interesting cause Cyborg has shown that she is not unbeatable. If she had won that match, she would have an even greater aura of invincibility.
Cyborg has like 4 good wins. All of Rousey's opponents from the start of her career except two were top 10 ranked, and the majority were top 5 ranked. Rousey has a far more impressive career and didn't get popped for steroids.
