I still think she'll have a warmup fight at 135 with a top five-10 to be sure she'll make weight which will do two things. Give them a chance to really gage how strong she is at 135. Two this will see if she "moves needles" and has a good following, which will determine if she'd fight Ronda sooner or later.

Cyborg should fight Tate. It's the only warm up that makes sense. It will solve a couple of questions. If she beats Tate shows she can make 135 and is still the legit fighter everyone thought she was.

It will solve the problem of what to do with Tate. Right now Tate is the female version of Benson. Crushed by the champion twice, and beating everyone not named Ronda. As it stands she's in limbo. If she goes out and beat cyborg she deserves another title shot. If she loses she can fall down the ladder. It won't change the current situation. Right now she's not getting a title shot. If Cyborg beats Ronda, she will be getting an automatic rematch; So Tate will have to wait anyway.

I agree. Cyborg just bum rushes women who aren't very good. That's literally her whole gameplan.

Also, people don't realize how little fights she's had. Ronda has honestly proved more than her.

Cyborg has 14 fights in 10-years.

She barely fights, she's gonna be off the juice, and the weight cut will be brutal.

If you ask me, Zingano is actually a tougher challenge seeing as she's been fighting at the weight class (which has a lot more talent than 145) and her skill set matches up better.

The UFC won't want to risk Cyborg losing before getting to Rousey. And she very easily might if forced to fight someone like Tate. They will put her right against Rousey, make a fortune, and be done with it before reality catches up to the illusion of how good Cyborg actually is compared to how good people think she is. Well, she's not known for her stand-up, that's Cybrog's world. The equivalent would be Rousey losing a grappling match to some other girl.

I completely agree. Cyborg is not an elite MMA practitioner. She is a woman who roided up to man-level strength and beat mostly nobodies by street-style fighting. Ronda won't just stand there and get beat on. Santos will get hip-tossed, mounted, and arm-barred before she knows what happened.

I don't think it's about "deserving" a shot, it's what people want to see, whether right or wrong. Ronda also got a bit of a pass when she was coming up, people were complaining she didn't deserve be ahead of a couple of other girls.

In any case, if Ronda beats Cat tonight, there is very little competition left for her, it's no surprise people want to see Cyborg take a crack, better than Beth or Meisha 3.

I think you are right if you believe Cyborg to be a fraud. I think you have to force cyborg to make 135 and beat a legit opponent. One to prove she can make weight. It would also prove she's worthy of the hype. If Tate beat Cyborg I think RT3 sells so well it won't matter missing the Cyborg train. Tate sells better than Cyborg and is much more marketable.

The worst possible scenario is if Cyborg misses weight vs Rousey and beats her. The machine will be destroyed. They will have a champion they can no longer market at this unstoppable force. They will have the unstoppable force that is unmarketable and at a weight class that doesnt exist. It really would be the worst of all worlds. That's why Cyborg Tate is the only match to make. It's the best move for everyone involved.

UFC is about making money. If they put Cyborg up against another girl and she loses, they lose a very marketable fight and a possible PPV headliner. What makes logical sense doesn't always make financial sense, if they give her a warm up fight, it will be an easy one.

The cyborg vs carano fight was horrible in the way they threw her to the lions so to speak. They hyped the fight like she had a chance when most everyone knew she was gonna get steamrolled. The do the opposite with rousey with the goat bs and she would beat BW males. I look for rousey to get blasted in short order once she actually faces somebody who can strike with power. She's been stunned with strikes before by women that don't hit like cyborg.

There are likely a number of women around the world that would win a Judo match with Ronda right now. Not sure why that would impact her standing as an MMA competitor.

Cyborg has like 4 good wins. All of Rousey's opponents from the start of her career except two were top 10 ranked, and the majority were top 5 ranked. Rousey has a far more impressive career and didn't get popped for steroids.
