Irish comedian Graham Lineham was arrested by UK armed police upon landing at Heathrow Airport yesterday, after making a series of social media posts about transgenders.

The incident has sparked severe backlash in the UK, including from the likes of JK Rowling.

@Siver!

You live there. This bullshit or is this true?

From across the pond over here it looks to me like you guys are living in some kind of dystopia surveillance state

"If a trans-identified male is in a female-only space, he is committing a violent, abusive act. Make a scene, call the cops and if all else fails, punch him in the balls"

UK judiciary system is softer than tranny balls. Note that this after the Supreme Court ruled that trannies can't be in areas designed for specific biological sexes

So he legit just made a joke about what the law is

Yeah, seems to get true.

He's already had a few run ins about his views so I stopped paying attention to him, I can only assume he made a direct call for violence - otherwise, I have no idea what's going on...

You can be arrested for tweets? What the H.
Just another thing we take for granted here in the US
Reminds me of this old gem:
Calling Prophet Muhammad a P***phile Not Protected by Free Speech, Court Rules
In case the OP doesn't make it clear what remarkable pussies the Europeans have become.

Hey, @Jack V. Savage, remember when you challenged me on progressive Europe's failure to understand how free speech works after I hit you with the case of the Scottish comedian facing jail time (and ultimately paying greater than a $1k fine) just for teaching his pug to heil in order to troll his girlfriend? Muhammad literally married his "favorite wife" when she was 6, and fucked her when she was 9. But you can't call him a p***phile!

It's okay. You don't have to admit you were wrong. Cue apologism.
Because Hack V. Savage had been insisting Europe's free speech protections were strong, probably even stronger than our own, back then. This was around 2018. Never forget.

In fact, I remember around that time Kyle Kulinski fans were howling that it was actually liberals, not conservatives, who were more commonly being silenced for political views in American universities. LMAO, yeah, I know. You can't make this shit up:

I mean marrying a 6 year old and then having sex with her at age 9 sounds like a peeedo to me. Strange times we're living in when you can't call a spade a spade.

Do you know how long of a sentence they get?
From what I can gather it really varies. I've seen stuff for a few weeks, to a few months, to a few years.

It does look like only a small percentage of arrests actually result in formal charges, however.

Still, getting snatched up from your house, thrown in cuffs and brought to the station for online comments is a huge strike on free speech whether you end up having to serve time for it or not.

Time to get a new police chief and change the law.
He was told to say it by Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

I’ve posted it a few times and American users mostly laugh. Which I don’t understand, as the Democrats would definitely allow the UK to extradite US citizens.

One day they might go after you for your sherdog posts lol

Agreed. That is wild. Meanwhile rape is thru the roof and no one cares about that.

You better apologize right now. I'll seriously chop your head off for insulting ol mo or insinuating he was anything but perfect. Fuckin blasphemous

For sure they would especially if its related to trans people.

They've been averaging THIRTY ARRESTS PER DAY in the UK for Online speech.

I think the US should start bombing the Freedom into them.

We should totally colonize them and then tax the shit out of them to pay our own debts but not let them have and political representation.
