COUNTER-STRIKE players club v2: Cloud9 made America great again

For day one the crowd is insane already. The audio is even muffled a bit to drown out the Portuguese broadcast in the arena:
 
Cloud9 is the only team who can do well in a bo3 or bo5 and they’re dropping to bo1 shitters. This stage isn’t good anymore for the game.

Cloud9 were my pick to go 3-0 in Challengers where they barely squeaked through. In Legends they beat Faze in a BO1, NaVi in a BO1 and Heroic in a BO3 to clinch playoffs. With this performance theyre my front runner to win.
 
Brazilian crowds are something else, man. Hope Furia continues to do well.
 
#1 and #2 ranked teams eliminated before playoffs.

In 2016 ESEA/ESL hosted their lan final of ESL Pro League in Brazil. Female host they had then was pure elegance.

So now that I’ve got a gaming laptop I would like to consider getting back into Counter-Strike, which I used to play tons from 1999-2003 (from beta version 4 to I think 1.5 or maybe 1.6).

What’s the game to play these days that still have active communities? 1.6? Source? Global Offensive? Any/all of the above?

Global Offensive is the most played game on Steam, massive community and frequently has 1mil+ concurrent players. Source and 1.6 still have thousands of daily players as well.
