Nerve wracking seeing whittaker fight now that he gets stunned/wobbled every fight and it always looks brutal

I wonder if Costa is trying to slim down to close the speed difference

I find that the exact opposite is true. USADA published a lot more detail. You could see samples collected by quarter, so you know the time frame and spread an athlete was tested. This also included total samples, not just count of days they were visited.

The form to query is nearly identical, I don't understand how it is easier (unless the user doesn't know what quarters are)

So before we would see e.g. Costa
USADA
Q1: 2 samples
Q2: 4 samples
Q3: 0 samples
Q4: 2 samples

You can see there was a 3 month window where no samples were collected.

Current UFC Anti doping:
Costa: 3 tests in 2023


Its not even close. Knowing the tests per quarter is how we previously found out some athletes (looking at you Jon Jones) went long consecutive periods with no tests. If you only see a block for a year, you really don't know jack shit.
 
Would be amazing if Costa finally showed up for a big fight.

We're still in the first quarter of 2024. Why would there be queries for quarters that don't exist yet? Everything in 2024 is Q1. If they don't add a quarter breakdown once we're in another quarter you'll have a point but right now everything's obviously Q1.

Everything prior to this is just old imported USADA data so I'm not surprised they skipped inputting exactly which quarters it relates to. Or perhaps USADA didn't actually give them that data in the first place. Cause if you think they're doing a worse job of maintaining athlete test history than USADA was, USADA literally destroyed their UFC website on Dec 31 and erased it. Now the only way to go back and see the history is to go to the general cross sports database.

Yes but now we know Costa was only visited 3x in 2023, as the new site shows. 1st visit took 2 samples, 2nd 4, and 3rd 2. Not they visited him multiple times each quarter and took samples from different visits. It's all the same session per single visit.

Total samples without the visits, which is what USADA's was, are completely meaningless and irrelevant to testing when they're just from the same visit. Whatever's in the 1st is going to be in the 3rd or 4th. The body's not going to have magically burned it out while they're taking your 4th vial of blood or piss in a single session without USADA sticking around and testing you across multiple hours.

We don't need to know how many samples are taken. Obviously they're taking at least 2 samples as there's an A and B sample so that athletes can ask for their B sample be tested. We need to know how many times they're being visited as different visits are when you'll get different results. Not samples from the same visit.

We can also go over the new site's visit history and see that USADA was visiting guys without testing them as a scare tactic. That wasn't visible under the old USADA database as if no new sample was collected then it wasn't updated. We can see for instance that Conor had 5 visits in 2023 after he re-entered the pool, but USADA's site only says 3 samples. This corroborates what Conor himself said that when USADA first tested him out on his yacht they came back hours later again but seemingly didn't test him. We can now see that reflected in the new site but couldn't on USADA's database as the other visit(s) didn't result in new samples.

Knowing how often the drug testers are actually showing up to test, or at least threaten a test, is way better. We went from thinking Conor was tested 1x with 3 samples for all of Q4 when he was in their pool to knowing they actually rolled in on him 5x.

Yes, we just need the quarter breakdown but as I said that's something to worry about when Q2 actually hits.

I meant the site in general. The supplement page for instance has it right up front in the most popular fighters languages to only use supplements with these specific logos to ensure they don't get an accidental tainted supplement, and makes it clear that using anything other WILL result in an upholding of their failure, no tainted supplement excuse allowed, if it stems from it.

Under USADA guys were just using sketchy ass brands that USADA hadn't yet caught on to and then providing multiple samples of them to "prove" that their failures stemmed from that and not anything else (more likely). USADA then just updated their list of sketchy ass brands but gave fighters a lighter sentence for "unknowingly" ingesting it. That's gone now. Take anything without these explicit logos and they're upholding the failure.

Took me all of 5 seconds to scan the approved logos and I can see with a super easy glance into my pantry that my Diesel protein powder is safe as it has the Informed Choice logo, but my Canadian Protein creatine and VitaSave collagen powders are not as they're just generically "3rd party tested". If I was a UFC fighter I'd throw those out and go buy new versions with any of the logos I can just glance at. This is way easier for fighters than to have to see if their specific item is on the caution list.

Been a fan of Robs ever since he made an entrance but i actually wouldn't mind seeing Paul win this fight.
 
Hopefully he'll be the Costa of Romero's fight.
 
I‘m hoping this means he’s taking his career seriously now, I’d like to see the same tank that went shot for shot with Romero and folded MF’s with bodykicks.
