Sandhagen lost nothing in this fight.

He took it on short notice, he gave his all, and there was some concern about what the decision would be.

I felt confident Petr Yan would win, but wasn't 100%. In the end, the scorecards reflected the way I saw the fight, but in no way was Cory Sandhagen diminished.

More importantly, rather than crying in the end, and disputing the decision, when asked if he thought "He Won," Sandhagen honestly answered, "No."

A game, tough, honest "man's man," as a competitor.

Even with the loss, Sandhagen definitely remains a threat to the entire division, and with more work, and the kind of honesty and bravado he has, he is by no means anywhere near finished. The best is yet to come.

That said, I was rooting for Petr Yan, and he pulled it off.

My bet is that Aljamain Sterling (an embarrassing name for any man) will never face Yan again; he will pull out, and spend extensive amounts of time in "rehabilitation," until UFC strips him.

The real fight now is between Petr Yan and T.J. Dillashaw.

That will be truly epic, and I can't wait.

I would also like to complement Petr Yan for his sportsmanship.

He gave Sandhagen all the credit in the world, as a "real fighter," attempted to touch gloves throughout, while trying to murder him within the fight.

Really think the world of Petr Yan, and I have equal respect for T.J. Dillashaw. Dude is a warrior also.

I agree with many who believe Yan versus Dillashaw will be the most competitive, exciting Championship-matchup in Bantamweight history.

Both have incredible cardio. Dillashaw is more active, more intense. Yan sturdier, more calculating.

An absolutely incredible matchup.

TJ better beat him early. Every round passes Yan’s chance of winning goes up. Yan is one of my favorites after his last 3 performances. Just so fucking good. Like a robot first he analyzes then he demolishes opponents.

Gotta give it to Cory too. Not just his skills but his heart and personality made a fan out of me as well. Fight completely delivered.

Thought he looked great and wasnt a bad loss

But it is 2 losses in row now. He should try a new striking coach to mix things up

If he sticks around a while he'll be champ. He's having close, competitive fights with all the top guys (and getting a title shot coming off a loss based on merit, similar to Aldo at 135) so sooner or later he's going to be on the winning side of it and get that belt.

He has lost to Aljo, Tj and yan in the past 18 months.. What don't people get?
There's other contenders rising also.
This is a major setback

While this is true, Sandhagen is also gaining valuable experience against the very best.

He seems to be a sponge to learn, and he has balls of steel. With the size/reach he has, this is a dangerous combination, when adding experience against the very best.

I mean look at Charles Oliviera. He's now champion, and wasn't 1/10 the man Sandhagen was in his earlier years. Oliviera was a "delicate quitter" in his early years.

It is a mistake to give up on Cory Sandhagen.

definitely represented himself well, he fought a hell of a first two rounds. he got clipped damn hard a few times and that's what slowed him down, def agree with the comments about his granite chin. Yan is just the terminator, he keeps coming and coming. don't know how you beat that guy. (in b4 'fake an injury after an illegal knee')

Exactly this.

How many times do you idiots have to be told , Sterling had neck surgery and WAS DENIED MEDICAL CLEARANCE BY DOCTORS TO FIGHT YAN TODAY

Let me guess, he paid the doctors off..

Once again the commentary really ruined this fight for me. Even in the two rounds Cory clearly won, the commentary was talking about Yan.
