Law Coronavirus the US GOV'T Response analysis Thread v2

Most people on the planet are useful idiots. The point is simply that America's useful idiots have a diverse variety of outlooks and philosophies, which is different from most nations where the useful idiots all fall in line.

As for the subject at hand, it's a bit rich to act like the US is the model of idiocy when, per capita, there are a lot of nations doing a lot worse, including Spain, Italy, France, the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Ireland, and even Sweden.

Now, it's possible that the US will catch up to some or even most of these, since the virus was a little bit later ramping up in North America... but as of now, I don't see a lot of evidence that the US has been making poorer decisions than the rest of the world.

The CT crankism, don’t tread on me, and other libertarian right wing posing as freedom is anything but when it results in bad economic policy like tea party austerity and upper tier tax cuts in boom years, or worse people just outright ignoring social distancing because it’s infringing on their freedumbs. These Astro turf demonstrations are examples of that. That’s not diversity speaking it’s just what passes for conservatism these days.

I don’t think you can draw a direct line to results and policy because there is so much we don’t know. For example it seems pretty obvious that we fluked our way to the line of overcapacity in medical services in New York and are lucky it did not turn into a total shit show.

Compared to Germany and say SK, the policy response has been half hazard and discombobulated. I do take the point that with all these states doing different things, we may just derf our way to herd immunity by luck.

Point is this lack of coordination aka “diversity” is not the preferred route by any means in handling a pandemic.

Rudy lol.

And when we're still waiting for the DNC's collusion with Ukraine to get Biden's son a spot on Burisma's Chinese board, a position Joe paid for with 1.5 billion in loan guarantees he was personally withholding.

And why does everyone hate her again? Oh wait, they dont

Most policy decisions don't offer a choice between the right way to go and the wrong way to go. They offer differing sets of trade-offs, and different people happen to be willing to make different trade-offs.

If one person or community tends more toward freedom and economic stability, and another person tends more toward community safety and healthcare, neither of those people or communities is simply "wrong" or "right."

That doesn't mean there are no wrong or right choices.

You might find that your decision to privilege freedom and the economy results in more death than you anticipated or were thinking that you were trading off and, furthermore, might even result in more long term economic harm than had you leaned more into the community safety and healthcare side of things.

Likewise, you might find that your decision to privilege community safety and healthcare results in a more devastating negative economic impact than you anticipated or were thinking that you were trading off and, furthermore, might even result in more long term healthcare harm than had you leaned more into the freedom and economic stability side of things.

We don't know. Which is why it's interesting to watch different states making different trade offs to see what their different results turn out to be.

You meet the nicest people on a Honda.
One of my clients is selling his 300 bike Honda collection...well was, until all this virus stuff happened and Mecum shut down like all the other auctions.

This guys amazing he is showing how oil tankers are staying out in the ocean because no one wants the oil there is like 30 or more out in the ocean. A lot of people on the beaches go figure.

Say hi to Jay Leno for me. 300 Hondas? Jesus.

There is room on the bus for Pence with Boris Johnson for COVID ignorance.

I've seen where this has happened before. When the price went down quite a bit. Not a price crash like this, but where it dropped enough before that the owners had the tankers stay at sea for a bit because if the price moved back up that was a good deal storage-wise, I guess.

But she's still Muslim, and her district is still little Somalia despite being 60% white people. Don't ever forget that.

Also, don't remember what people like Mitch Mcconnell are doing, playing favorites during a pandemic when his state is in the red perpetually.........
