It's interesting to note that not only the mortality in Iran (ovee 15%) is signigicantly higher than other countries, but they have far more infected politicians as well.

CIA regime-change op via biological agent confirmed.

Lets be clear and honest here.

Trump wants Pence at the top of this because Trump cannot stand when he says something for political benefit and then the head of the agency speaks to COngress or the Media and does so honestly in a way that contradicts Trump or exposes a Trump lie.

With Pence in charge that will not happen. If Trump says something and its being questioned he can say 'Talk to the guy in charge, Pence" and all you will hear is whatever Trump wants Pence to say, if Pence can move Trumps scrotum aside long enough to talk.

And while that can be fine if all the decisions made are good ones, if can be a disaster if they are not.

There is not a single Trumpster here who does not know that is why Trump wants Pence in place, even if, in their TDS, they would not admit that.
You must be a wizard

Plus...

Once again if this goes sideways and you see 100,000+ infected in the U.S. (and I'm just talking infected, not dead), the President can always say something like this during the re-election bid...

"Due to V.P. Pence's failure to handle the outbreak, I have lost confidence in him and will now ask former S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley to run as my V.P."

Two birds, one stone.

It's interesting to note that not only the mortality in Iran (consistently between 15% and 20%) is significantly higher than other countries, but they have far more infected politicians as well.

The first can probably be explained that there are many more cases that hasn't been diagnosed yet and people are only tested when on their death bed, the second part might be their earlier self-denial coming back to bite them in the ass.
The last peak prosperity update included a study some group did on iran. They took a bunch of data from flight records to lag time, tracked the infections in other countries that were spread from iran etc, and concluded currently 18,300 cases in iran.

Northern Japan here. Lots of kindergarten ls are shutting down. Regular schools are canceling field trips and end of school year pointless ceremonies.
My buddy his son's kindergarten is closed until April as things stand now.

Prime minister Abe is asking for all public schools be canceled til April!

Japan To Close All Its Schools For A Month
February 27, 2020

Japan is asking all elementary, junior high and senior high schools to close after this week and not reopen until after their spring break ends in April, in a bid to protect children from COVID-19.

Announcing the move, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said he is "putting health and safety of children first above all."

"Normally, schools in Japan typically begin spring breaks in late March," Japan's NHK News reports. "They will now be effectively asked to start their holidays early."

The nationwide shutdown comes after jurisdictions in Hokkaido and Chiba announced plans to close their schools to avoid close contact that could spread the virus.

As Japan fights to contain the coronavirus, "the next one to two weeks will be of critical importance," Abe said, laying out his plans at Japan's Novel Coronavirus Response Headquarters on Thursday.

Japan's government is also asking businesses and other employers to give wide latitude to their employees, both to allow them to take leave if they feel ill and to accommodate parents who now face an unplanned stretch of several weeks without school.

The government will address "various issues caused by these measures," Abe added.

In another new development, Japanese health officials say a woman who had recovered from COVID-19 and was released from care has been found to have the virus again. An Osaka resident, the woman was originally diagnosed on Jan. 29, when she became Japan's eighth patient. She's now listed as patient No. 148.

Japan currently has 210 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, according to its Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. But that figure omits more than 700 cases from the Diamond Princess cruise ship. The ship became one of the world's largest clusters of COVID-19 cases outside of mainland China as it sat for weeks in quarantine at a port in Yokohama.

Honestly, if Trump/Pence is going to overrule the CDC and take charge of all communications on this... It's very possible that how the Coronaviris Pandemic plays in the US will sink or swim Trump's election run in November. I wonder if he knows this...

Or... It all goes south and Trump fires Pence as a running mate ... lol

There's a lot of helicopter parents in Japan that are going to have mental breakdowns at the thought of their kids not having to do 4-5 hours of homework per night for a whole month.

I lost, the look on the Asian chicks faces is priceless

...also it looks like Iran holds their daily government meetings like this

Iranians regularly kiss each other (strangers) on the mouth (men on men, men on boys, etc) and are in general close talkers and very touchy-feely

That contributes a lot to the spread

I'm willing to bet it has a lot to do with how they gather to pray.

Friday_prayer_%28Tehran%2C_2016%29_01.jpg

Tehran's Friday Prayers are the who's who of powerful Iranian men. From religious and military leaders to the future supreme leader, basically they all pray together. And guess what? They just cancelled their Friday prayer. You guys, this is actually huge!

"The outbreak prompted authorities to call off Friday prayers in several cities including Tehran, state TV later reported, while the state news agency IRNA said Iran had banned Chinese citizens from entering"

...that would explain a lot. My culture also kisses each other to say hello and goodbye but we put an end to that at work for example a while ago for this very reason

Ya, No one, and I mean NO ONE, is putting this guy atop a sensitive area like this that needs to be lead by science and Doctors when his view is Smoking does not kill, and Conversion Therapy works, and his best referenceable instance of dealing with a health crisis lead to more deaths and the crisis deepening due to him putting his religious dogma over the scientific and medical information.

FROM 'SMOKING DOESN'T KILL' TO CONVERSION THERAPY—MIKE PENCE'S MOST CONTROVERSIAL SCIENCE REMARKS

Mike Pence, who enabled an HIV outbreak in Indiana, will lead US coronavirus response

Yup. between that and Pence obviously being someone who would not dare contradict even the most blatant Trump lie, you will have none of the pesky 'Truth to Power' type stuff coming out where Trump says one thing, but his top official, before Congress or the Media says another.

This is a blatant attempt to lock down the narrative to Trump and Trump only and only idiots with severe TDS like @Madmick think it wrong to be skeptical about this.

Pence Will Control All Coronavirus Messaging From Health Officials

Government health officials and scientists will have to coordinate statements with the vice president’s office...
Holy TDerailS.

This goof can't even settle his neurosis long enough for Trump to bungle up a crisis response, or better yet, to keep his pathological TDS in the War Room.

Witht the talk of cost for a vaccine it's pretty remarkable how quickly sentiments like this fell out of the public consciousness.

In 1955, Edward Murrow asked Jonas Salk who owned his patent for the polio vaccine. Salk's response: "Well, the people, I would say. There is no patent. Could you patent the sun?”
