Crime Cop who shot 36 y/o woman in her home found guilty of 2nd Degree Murder

I'll try to be more cordial but it looks like we are going to agree to disagree on this subject. I think theres a systemic issue within law enforcement that incentivizes bad behaviors and bad actors. You think its only a few bad apples and that the system is not tainted or corrupted.

Thanks for the back and forth. I'll move on

Fair enough. I will also try to be more respectful and you’re right, we have to agree to disagree on this issue, but in a more respectful manner on both our parts. Having the career that I did, I am protective of the profession as a whole but as I stated, I fucking hate dirty cops. I could go on and on as well about changes that I have long championed for law enforcement and many I brought to my department through many years of training officers in taser, defensive tactics, as a field training officer and many years as a supervisor. So yes, changes should always be sought in every profession especially a powerful and Important one like law enforcement

Oh man, I will definitely watch that but I fucking hate oliver with a passion-but I will do so just to rage watch.
First, re: your exchange with Shady, I think that with cameras everywhere, or in your case "industry" knowledge, it's all too easy to turn up individual incidents and give the appearance that things (whatever they are) occur far more frequently than they do. Or, as I usually say, anecdotes aren't worth a fuck.

But...

The John Oliver piece, while showing some especially eggregious incidents for context (and rage bait, admittedly--but for a good purpose IMHO), includes actual stats and you're in the best position (among us) to judge whether the numbers are significant in the context of the overall number of police encounters involving motor vehicles. No innocent life lost to a police pursuit is ok, but you may judge the total number of such incidents is small in relation to the overall number of occurrences and I'm curious to know what you think. It certainly sounds to me that the US, and California in particular, has a massive problem in this regard. And of course, QI makes the situation--if represented accurately, all the more sickening. I read and understood your position on that factor, so no need to reiterate. I think we're in agreement there.

Talking of, The Perfect Neighbor on Netflix made me dizzy being it was 90% bodycam.
Why was there not a single piece of video from any of the neighbours of the lady losing her mind outside and yelling at the kids/acting crazy? They talked about it repeatedly and that it happened all the time. And yet, not ONE video from any of those kids or neighbours who all have cell phones shown in the documentary?

Everybody in that neighbourhood was a low IQ mess and that tends to lead to situations like this.

Race baiting trash heap of a documentary.

Wait....who was that fucking DILDO lawyer poster who was arguing for weeks that everybody was retarded and this cop wouldn't see a day in jail?

Who was that clown? Tag him in here lol

No one cares about your life story dude.

Law enforcement is tainted with systemic issues that need fixing. Your specific life experiences do not devalue the argument which has been broadly studied now across many agencies and departments.

My recommendations would be start with getting rid of qualified immunity, have lawsuits come directly out of officers pensions, hire those with better integrity and education, better pay and training, higher standards, and truly independent accountability boards that have zero conflict of interests.

It's that simple. But we all know police unions are one of the most powerful in the country for a reason. We all know how hard it is for a cop to have actual consequences (we investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing or the classic fired-hired at the department next door)

Again, your personal life experiences are not enough to dismiss the hundreds of thousands of cases and examples that show it's not just a dirty cop, that dirty cop was protected or even encouraged to thrive in such environments where integrity/morals/ethics are secondary to "how well does this candidate comply to orders and follow instructions". Culture needs to change but it wont.
How is the profession any different from the pool of workers of firefighters?

Removing protection would make the pool even worse, at some point, you have to accept the necessary evil.

Again, your personal life experiences are not enough to dismiss the hundreds of thousands of cases and examples that show it's not just a dirty cop
That's what these people keep missing, anecdotal evidence doesn't mean shit. It's been proven that there are so many bad cops out there. Just off the top of my head, I remember some precinct in San Diego a decade ago or so, had a group of 6 cops passing around a high school girl that they were all fucking. Never ending stories of that, rape, cops just killing people, stealing money and drugs, or just taking someone's rent money because the amount looks "suspicious" and now that person can't pay rent.

It's endless fuckery. So many dash cam videos of drunk as fuck cops getting pulled over by other cops, and the drunk cop being like, "oh can't we do this like the old days, just let me go?" No accountability.

Even Seano didn't defend the cop? i find that hard to believe.

@nhbbear who was that lawyer guy you were arguing with for like 2 weeks about this case? Apologies if that wasn't you, but pretty certain it was. Can't be arsed to search.

By this time, old boy wakes up and comes at me for real, but other troopers hold him back. The captain starts walking back to his office and tells my partner and the sergeant in charge to come with him. In his office, the sergeant is screaming at me that they are calling my department and kicking me out of the academy-the captain did not raise his voice, but asked me what my thought process was in my application of force. Again, I was educated and studied my laws and use of force because that was my favorite subject and why I became a trainer for 13 years and went to and held a shit ton of trainings and eventually became a state use of force expert and have testified in use of force cases in court. So I start rattling off Graham v Connor use of force facts and I argue that my use of force was justified because he did not respond to lesser uses of force, he obviously knew how to fight since he tried to take me down-which is considered deadly force against a police officer and your level of force can go way up, we were vastly outnumbered 4-2, the driver was also fighting my partner and me personally, was outnumbered 3-1 because they all came for me rather than him, and it was unknown if they were armed or not. In fact, I argued that I would have been justified pulling my gun and shooting one of them if they continued to advance because of the numbers issue.

The sergeant got red faced and pissed off and got in my face-but he was a tiny man with a big attitude and only stood about 5’7” and 160 lbs. the captain ordered him out of the room along with my partner and tells them to not talk. He had to tell him twice. The captain, still very calm, tells me he doesn’t know what to do with me at this point-but he has to call my chief immediately. He sends me out into the hallway, calls the sergeant back in and I am ordered not to talk to my partner-who is eventually called in and they have a discussion for about half an hour. He comes out, and looks shook. He is sent back to the dorm room. After about an hour, the sergeant leaves and I am called back in. The captain tells me that he spoke with my chief. He tells me that he was very impressed with my knowledge of graham v Connor and that he and the sergeant vastly disagree. He tells me that I made very valid points that would hold up in court. He tells me I will not get kicked out of the academy-this is Monday btw and we have all week of ost scheduled. He tells me that I am done for the day and to go back to my room and not discuss the issue with anyone.

The trooper that killed the girl and all but one of the troopers in the scenario are sent packing. The trooper I was buddies with came to my room later and said “holy shit-that was fucking awesome-but fucking watch your back.” Then he leaves. I had officers in my room all night and they were cheering and wouldn’t shut up about it.

My trooper buddy was correct. The rest of my week was absolute hell. The next day, I am paired with a new partner-the female officer and I have to go first on a new scenario-this one, a reported domestic violence call. Before the scenario begins, a trooper-the second in command of our class behind the sergeant comes out and tells us outside the house what the call is-he then walks into the house and I hear him say “it’s him.” This is in a simulation house they built just for this training-we also used it to practice clearing a house and searching and serving search warrants that we had to write and find whatever we were securing the search warrant for.

We knock on the door and a female trooper answers the door-she was actually hot af and a welcome addition to all the troopers from all over the state that come to ost training. She has fake blood on her face and tells us that nothing happened and we can leave. My parter actually turns to leave and I grabbed her arm: I then tell the female trooper that we were there for a potential domestic violence call and we are coming in per state law. He smiles at me and steps aside. As soon as I enter the room-2 other troopers fucking open up on me with automatic paintball guns. I got lit up head to toe and most of the paintball welts bled a good bit. Personally, I am almost certain that they put them in the freezer just for me. I spent that night with ice packs and absolutely miserable. That was my only simulation that day because I was pretty fucked up.

The next day is pursuit training at an airport and it is high speed and stressful because we also had to pass our driver training that day which included high speed backing through a course of cones. That was really fucking hard and I almost failed it because there were fucking turns-several others-including the female officer did fail and had to repeat it until they passed-which took a long ass time. The day after was much like day two where I had to respond to a shooting in the woods. I had my original partner back. We go in and there are several troopers on the ground. Obviously, our guns are out. The female trooper comes out from behind a tree and I point my gun at her and she gives up. But then, one of the “downed” troopers gets up off of the ground and starts shooting at me. I fire back, but honestly, I have never been a really good shot. I miss him and he takes cover behind a tree and continues firing at me. I run out of ammo without hitting a fucking thing a reload taking cover behind a tree. I almost empty the second simulation round magazine and finally, I hit him in the head but he ignores it and he lights me up and hits me right in the left nut. I dropped instantly and I was rolling on the ground. I wasn’t wearing a cup-most guys were, but I never wore one even when kicking boxing and mma training-ever. The female trooper calls for a cease fire. She kneels next to me and tells me that they were going to finally be happy about this and bragging about it at the bar that night-but not her. She actually ended up moving up to my area and was a trooper there for a while and we went on some actual calls together. She was a cool girl and she married a rich chiropractor and retired to become a housewife and mother.

Nothing else happened the following day and I think they were finally done with me. I spent the weekend recovering and my nuts and leg were swollen and black and blue for two weeks. My nut turned a horrible shade of green and yellow and I thought I had burst the testicle but got checked at the er on Saturday and it was all good. We had the range the next week and then graduated. During range week, they treat you really fucking good. Good food all week-pizzas ordered at night, and suddenly, the troopers tell you that we are all brothers in law enforcement and some Kim-bay-ya shit. The female officer took three tries at the range and the third time, it was just her and I have my doubts that she actually passed the course but I guess she sucked dick good enough for the pig man.

After graduating, my favorite sergeant in charge called me into his office and asked me when I was coming back to be a state trooper. I told him never on his life. He walked me out of his office and as I left, in the middle of the hallway there was a state police patch on the floor. You never ever walked on it while you were there or you got absolutely smoked and would be running and doing pushups for hours and I saw a few guys that learned that the hard way. I walked right over the fucking thing and I have basically hated state troopers ever since that one week. Though, right now, my next door neighbor just retired a few weeks ago as a very high ranking captain from the state police and now works for the state lottery commission making big bucks.

I tell you all of this for a few reasons. 1-to the point, I know car chases are really fucking dangerous for everyone and I see them going the way of the dodo soon except for very violent felonies. It will take the smaller hick departments a few years to catch up to the rest of the country as per usual, but it’s coming. 2 this is a thread about a fucked up police shooting and despite what some twats are claiming-I don’t defend or excuse bad cops and in fact, hate them very much. I will defend legitimate uses of force but I have been arguing that this was a bad shoot since the original thread over a year ago and got into very heated arguments with that cunt joshuaace who claimed he knew this officer would get off and he was willing to bet our accounts on the case. While I was very confident in my assessment-sometimes, you really never know and I wasn’t risking my 20 year account over some bitch who has since lost his shit over the original thread and hasn’t been seen since. I can’t even tag him to rub it in for some reason. 3. I figured this would be an interesting story for you to read and I don’t shy away from the fact that there are some really fucked up police officers in our country that shouldn’t ever be cops. I have worked with only a few and I always say dirty cops don’t do their dirty in front of good cops, but my experiences with them and the fucked up state troopers-especially the trooper that basically killed that girl during a pursuit over a stupid traffic violation-the driver went to prison and was completely unharmed in a fucked twist of fate where karma took the day off. The girls family sued the state police and I am sure they got a boatload of money deservedly.

cool story.

question: do you think (for example), or can you say if, State Cops are as a whole better than City cops? Like is there a particular type of LEO Dep't that is more/less likely to be well-trained or badly-trained and indeed more or less shady with it? I'm guessing its something that can't be predicted and is just specific to Dep'ts based on tradition/leadership, other than, I figure the smaller the jurisdiction the greater the likelihood of malpractise bordering corruption?

But then, that is unlikely to translate directly into 'the bigger the department the less chance of malpractise/corruption', I'm sure, at least thinking about horror-show stuff we have all heard about various big city PDs, Rampart Squad, the famous tv show unit in baltimore (I read the book that was based on).

I'm just wondering if there are any consistent/structural factors that might tend to better/worse PDs, beyond assuming small town jurisdictions sound like scary fucken places to get pulled over.

I’m sorry, 4 to 20 years for blasting a woman that was curled up into a ball? How is that all he got?

Also, she died of blood loss, not head trauma.

Grayson deliberately stopped the other officer present from rendering aid.

It's actually possible that she could've survived the wound if that hadn't happened.

Total scumbag who should've lost his certification after being bounced out of other departments.

Shady and I have agreed to disagree. We sort of made up for name calling and mini meltdowns and we will both make more of an effort to remain more respectful. Lifeless sheep-probably not ever gonna happen on that front. Have you seen the way he has been spamming bad cop videos into this thread-which is a bad cop video, but about a specific incident that warrants its own discussion imo and this tool won’t stop spamming. Anyway, I was looking back at the original thread to watch joshuaace have a full on meltdown defending this cop and betting anyone that he would walk. Between he and I-it got heated. But it was also amusing to see you and him getting heated. I haven’t seen the dude since and I think he either checked out or blocked me like a bitch

I will watch it today after I finish my classes and office hours. While I miss law enforcement, this whole higher education thing is sweet fucking deal. However, my wife is currently watching it and if I restart it just to watch that segment, it will likely annoy her a great deal-so I am definitely going to do it before she gets home from work in order to do so.

. I don’t have a set “8 hour day-40 hour week.” I have my four classes that I teach, which totals 12 hours/week. We are required to have 4 office hours/week for all full time faculty. Like the overachiever that I am, I have 12 office hours every week-plus, a good bit of work from home.

Where it gets interesting is with program leads (me) and chairs have a shit ton more responsibility that regular faculty. For example, two weeks ago, we had to submit our spring class schedule for our programs which entails securing your adjunct professors, determining which classes and how many you are going to offer, and who is going to teach which classes.

This being the first time I have ever had to do anything remotely like this, my stress factor was a bit high because scheduling is very difficult to explain how much goes into it. For example, you have to tend to your seniors that may need a certain class to graduate, so I had to offer those classes first and foreMost. Second, you have to offer classes in an order that makes sense in order to help first and second year students progress at a reasonable pace. My predecessor hadn’t offered a freshman level course that’s required for both the major and the minor in over a year and it is listed in the catalog as “every fall.” So I had to make sure that class was on the schedule, and I also offered the “every fall” law enforcement class which I now plan to offer every semester because again, required for every major and minor in CJ program. I decided to run a terrorism and homeland security class back for one of my adjuncts as well as the students. Initially, I was supposed to teach that according the s here that was assigned by my predecessor and I think it would have been a fun class to build and teach-I love that shit. But, the adjunct whom is perfect for this role is a retired NSA agent and has taught this course for 15 years at multiple universities and colleges. The only issue was that he couldn’t teach it according to the fall schedule that had been set last spring. So I had to greet his class and inform them it would be an evening only class. Damn near had a riot, but it was the only time he could run this course because he is a Dean of students at another university. So I decided it was only fair to him and the students (that couldn’t do evening classes this semester because of football or other sports-so we are running that one back. If it is low enrollment again, I will have to teach the class during the day myself. And then you have to have some online options for distance learning as well. One of my goals for the program is to get our CJ degree online by Spring 27. But that requires being able to offer every class online-so I have to learn on the job on how to build a major basically.

My point is that making the schedule was very busy. Last week I began scheduling and advising the entire CJ department-guess had to learn the registrar software in ten minutes-this guy. So my 12 office hours + 12 class hours+ whatever I have to do from home suddenly became 19 officer hours to schedule students+ 23 class hours, and a solid 10 hours from home emailing students to schedule them an office hour-I have to limit them to 2”-25 mins. But the great part about this job is that this week for example, after the last hellish weeks, I am cranking out my office hours-scheduling the remainder of the procrastinators-and then bolting home to have some damn time to myself.

Talking of, The Perfect Neighbor on Netflix made me dizzy being it was 90% bodycam.
They aren’t even trying anymore. A Minute into that intro and yep you can tell exactly what’s going to happen. No surprises or plot twist. Just here is your racist sandwich. Enjoy

Seems like the bipartisan opinion on this issue is...

"Good. Fuck 'em."

The problem is since this happened in Illinois he can only get 4-20 years for 2nd degree murder, half of it for good behavior.

Hey liberals & leftists, see the problem with soft-on-crime policies? They also effect white cops that murder black people.

And one of the biggest reasons for the pathetically short prison sentences? Overcrowded prisons.
And apparently proposing blue states to build more prisons is like asking Dracula to get a tan.

JOSHUAACE. He was a world class cunt and in my hall of fame for being such an arrogant, condescending, and insufferable twat waffle. That thread got quite heated. I was super confident that grayson was going down and ace was overconfident that he would walk. I used scotus case law that specifically relate to use of force (graham v connor and Johnson v flock) and deadly use of force (TN v Garner) and imo, mopped the floor with him so badly that he left sherdog-or blocked me because I wasn’t able to tag him to drag his bitch ass in here and rub his face in it.

Oh, and he claimed he was a renowned defense attorney as well lol. After you read this, do me a favor and see if you can tag him and let him know that he was dead wrong as I said and he can eat a bag of dicks-just in case he hasn’t been running and instead just blocked me because I mopped the floor with him.

In fact, he wanted to bet accounts-loser leaves sherdog forever. Despite my confidence in my assessment, I don’t gamble for any reason. I hate gambling-I don’t do scratch offs or lottery, don’t play slots, sports gambling, etc and I hate it even more now because my YouTube feed commercials were ALL sports betting-betmgm, sportsbook, bitcoin and bitcoin experts that want to teach you to be a millionaire, and other predatory cunts and many of the commercials-you can’t skip. And I was bit especially hard because I watch tons of mma channels, fishing videos (again, a sport-so I must like gambling) and call of duty threads-so again, I would probably like online gambling. I also watch a metric ton of Cenozoic mega fauna video (giant mammals from millions of years ago) and despite how much I hate those commercials, I am not springing for YouTube plus to avoid them-so a few weeks ago, after developing an extremely unhealthy hatred for jon hamm and kevin hart because they’re in every commercial, I looked up how to block gambling ads.

The second reason I wouldn’t bet my 20 year old account was that I have seen the justice system fail over and over again. I have personally seen a jury vote to acquit a career violent felon for felony domestic battery because they didn’t like the victim. She was a pregnant crack whore that her pimp beat with a bicycle. She had a perjury charge-convicted of lying in a court of law, which the defense tried to play up-but it never ever should have mattered because I actually saw the incident taking place. I was on patrol in the ghetto and saw a crowd formed at the entrance of an alley known for drug dealing. There were probably about 20 people. We tried to turn down the alley and we heard people screaming “5-0!!” And no one would Move out of the way-they were purposely blocking the road and warning him that we were there. I took note of who wouldn’t move and I got each of them in my own way when they maybe would have normally gotten the occasional break-not anymore.

Anyway, I was able to see through the crowd that there was a woman on the ground and her bf and pimp was holding a bicycle over his head and he kept bringing it down on her legs. We had to race at high speed to the next alley and when we got there, the bike was on the ground, he was trying to pretend like he was walking away-and he said “the dumb bitch is high and falling down again.” I immediately arrested him-thankfully, he tried to resist and I slammed his face onto the hot cruiser’s trunk that had been baking in the summer sun. We took her to the hospital-again, she was pregnant, and she had bike wheel marks up and down her legs and had a bloody lip and nose-I don’t see him hit her in the face. I testified as to what I saw-him physically hit her with a bike tire, then testified that I know them to be intimate partners, and finally, that upon checking his triple I history (an fbi record of every time you ever got arrested and fingerprinted by law enforcement and it has the dispositions that tell you outcomes, court case numbers, and sentence). It differs from a criminal background d check that only shows what you were convicted of-not the court case numbers and dates-which are required to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the person in question has had more than 2 previous domestic violence convictions because the third is a felony. This incident put him in the violent habitual offender category and he could have gone away for a long time and he was an absolute asshole every time you dealt with him so it made me happy to know (or believe it would happen) that he was going away for a long time.

Anyway, the jury voted to acquit. I was crushed. Again, I saw it-I saw him beating her with a bike and her perjury conviction didn’t fucking matter.

I knew one of the jurors-roberta. Her father owned the biggest, most profitable car dealership in the area and they were millionaires. She was the VP. She was also married to a former cop who was known to be an incompetent and notoriously lazy coward that went back to school and became an incredibly lazy prosecutor-which should have prevented her from being on the jury in the first place-but her coming from money and influence, she really wanted to be on that jury because it would be fun and interesting: I remember the voir dire (when prosecution and defense question potential jurors to determine whom they want to strike) and I remember one of them asking her despite her husband, could she remain unbiased and she said “on her honor as a mother of two kids.”

Anyway, she always wanted law enforcement business and offered what they called “friends and family benefits” to all law enforcement officers and they had been trying to get a contract with the city to ensure we bought our police cruisers through them. I made an absolute stink over it-telling anyone I could to not buy cars from them. I told friends, other officers, other police departments in the area-again, I was a bear scorned. Well, one of my former partners whom I had never liked (he was a compulsive gambler and when I was a rookie, he would park at the 7-11 and do scratch offs for most of the shift and wouldn’t let me drive and wouldn’t let me get into any action because he was a lazy pos) is really good friends with her. He comes up to me one day and tells me I need to cool it with smearing Roberta’s name all over town.

First, he says that she is good to law enforcement and respects officers more than just about anyone in the city. So I tell him that she was on a jury that unanimously voted to acquit a known violent offender and woman beater as well as being a crack dealer and he had a manslaughter conviction in his past for killing someone and they let him walk. He then says he’s going to level with me-she really really wanted to convict him and so did some of the other jurors, but there was one guy that said “she’s a crack whore and pregnant-fuck her” he mentions that according to roberta, this juror kept railing on about how she smokes cigarettes, drinks alcohol, smokes crack, and sells her body all while carrying a baby which will never have a chance in life. And that is one million percent valid-she was a piece of shit. She was destroying the human baby inside of her with poison and it would never ever be raised by its own mother-thank god, and it would fail to thrive due to health issues associated with smoking crack in utero and health issues associated with drinking and smoking while pregnant. That poor kid didn’t stand a chance in life just based on those health issues that affect how the brain develops and it is proven that such exposure to those particular chemicals stunt growth and have life-long effects. So, yes absolutely, I get it. In fact, she pissed me off to see her hooking on the streets and smoking and drinking and I actually arrested her quite a few times hoping that she would get locked up and the baby-poisoning would cease while she was in lock up, but she kept getting out-bailed out my her pump because a pregnant crack whore is a kink for some people and they paid good money for her.
So my old partner, Dave, is really trying to get me to understand that she didn’t have a chance because that other juror was really the bad guy-not her. I told him that I absolutely don’t give a fuck and that by voting to acquit-she and the other jurors not only allowed a violent criminal to walk on a potential 10+ year stretch-that they allowed a man to beat a pregnant woman without consequences that could have actually killed that baby-that she and the other jurors could have not simply gone along with one piece of shit that condoned the behavior because she was a bad person and not fit to be a mother, but they did so for less than an hour.

That’s how long they deliberated-less than an hour for them to completely dismiss my testimony and the work I put in and the hour I put on the stand being questioned by some sleazy defense attorney who vigorously defended this man and was also, like ace, a condescending cunt.

So that’s why I don’t trust the court system enough to gamble my account.

Again, let me know if you can tag him because I can’t.

I missed that part. That’s an outrage. He deserves life in prison. Unfortunately this is a known problem with police departments in the US where they don’t really communicate and will hire bad cops that were fired for misconduct a county over. There needs to be some national standards established

Cool beans, but you could possibly have watched the entire show in the time it took to write these two posts :p

That's a lot of words.

The only question worth asking is: Are those jackboots at an easy reach?
