controversial opinion

Tell me a controversial opinion you have about hypothetical matchups between current and former fighters. Mine is: Merab, Umar, and Yan would beat all the other bantamweights in history. I honestly have no arguments to defend Umar and Yan, but whatever—I just believe in them.
That's the most white belt thing I've ever read.

It's a bit over blown though. He was an undersized heavyweight, it didn't really matter if he put on fat.

The reason why he was a HW wasn't because he liked eating though. He spent a lot of his career at HW because he had hurt himself cutting weight and his doctors told him not too.

DC had medical reasons for why he couldn't cut that much weight, so he was never going to make 185.

Go watch him wrestle in college at 184lbs. It was a completely normal and healthy body weight for him. He actually moved DOWN to 184lbs successfully and stayed there for two years.

He only started having weight cutting issues after he moved back UP in weight after leaving OSU. Not having to make 184lbs gave him the leeway to be less disciplined with his diet, he went overboard, which led to him trying to cut so much that it caused kidney issues.

He could 100% have competed at 185lbs, he just has a self-admitted bad relationship with food.

It's a joke that Usman was ever p4p no1 fighter in the world both Izzy and volk were significantly better with wins over Holloway x3 and Aldo for volk and Izzy had Whittaker X2, yoel and Costa.... Mean while Usman beat Colby and masvidal lmao
CBut Colby's the second greatest WW of all time. I know because sherdog told me that for years.

i have no controversial opinions. i just wait for fighters to lose and then call them cans.

I don't know if it is controversial anymore.
But they could have a league where fighters got electrocuted the day before the fight so they have no strategy going in.
Like in the old days. Just another unknown warrior standing in front of you. Memory coming back the day or week after for most of them.

Yoel Romero is highly overrated as a fighter

Agreed. I'm my opinion having Masdival as 2 of is 5 defenses hurts is legacy.
Especially since he was ducking Leon for over a year when he was the rightful #1 contender and gets knocked out spectacularly in the rematch (people forget he was almost subbed Usman in the first round of that fight. Would've had it if the round didn't end) and dominated in the trilogy.

People aren't going to like it but my list of WW champs go
GSP
Hughes
Woodley
Robbie
Usman

If Brock Lesnar had gotten into MMA instead of wrestling he would have ended up in Pride and been so good that when Ufc bought the company he'd get the Fedor treatment. He would have been relegated to freak show japanese mismatches.

That's wrestling not fighting.

I dont find that controversial at all. Just looking at his resume proves Usman is the most overhyped champion of the last era. P4P #1 was an absolute joke.
