They did delay it. That is a fact. A lot of it had to do with COVID, though, including that trailer. The trailer was underwhelming, I agree. They shouldn’t have shown it in that state. Fact is people shit on the game before even playing it. What’s the difference?

What’s the difference between mocking an unreleased game in a shitty state and dismissing several critical and user acclaimed games because they’re not on the console you prefer?

I’m not dismissing those games though. I said they aren’t killer apps and that they’ll be forgettable halfway through the PS5 generation. Especially when you have GoW and Horizon coming out. No ones going to care about Demon’s Souls remake.

The slightest bit of negativity towards anything PlayStation is met with anger.

lve never owned a top tier PC till my most recent one. All my other PC were in the price range 1000 or so. Below mid to mid tier at best. I lucked into a 3090 and it forced my hand into building a top tier Pc build.

I think your wrong about Spiderman. That game sold more than both of those titles. On top of that the main character in the game was also the MC in the Spiderverse movie. Which I think we can all agree was loved by everyone. The only knock on the game is that it's short.

Also I have a 3080 so no a series X is not better than my PC.

But there’s still several, brand new, high quality games that you can only get on PlayStation 5 right now.

Like I said, that’s what people want. New games for their new console that couldn’t be accomplished on their old system. Sony is already delivering that and it’s only going to ramp up in the coming months.

Doesn’t matter that they aren’t $200M budget titles. They’re getting attention, they’re showing off what the system is capable of. This is even extending to third party games. RE8 using the Dual Sense and Tempest audio.

I’ll concede my stance on Spider-Man. That game may be more important than I’m giving it credit for. I’ll allow the killer app tag.

For the record Xbox has been like a barren wasteland for a long time. I didn’t play The Medium but there’s pretty much nothing 1st party at all I’m wanting. I think Gears Tactics and The Medium are all that have come out in a while. I’m still playing Stardew Valley since update 1.5 came out.

But the original argument was about “killer apps”. I don’t really think either console has a game worth buying a new system for. I will (now) accept Spider-Man: Miles Morales as the only game on either console that could be considered a system seller.

Both consoles will eventually have lineups that will make it worth having them both imo. Unless you’re one of those Sherdog executives who have a good gaming PC that is.

People were most definitely buying a PS5 just for Demon’s Souls if you want to get that pedantic.

Demon’s Souls is a 2020 next gen release. If people were pumping their fists over the 2009 version being boosted to 120 FPS then you’d have the Xbox spirit down lol.
