There are but you need to stick your head out of the basement and realise Ireland is nothing like the US.

We're not in the habit of voting for coked-up, right wing, rapists. He didn't drop out to protect his reputation or for fear of political assassination. He dropped out beause the general public hate him and his chances of being elected were zero.

The last line is it. He dropped because there was no path to winning.
