You literally have no idea how good or bad Conor's ground game is, so don't act like you do. Also, Conor's TDD will not be good enough to stop Khabib. Also, Khabib has decent striking. It is wild, yet calculated, and almost entirely used for the specific purpose of closing the distance. There is a reason he is 25-0.

He's gonna fight Tony if he doesn't vacate. Love Tony, he's my favorite right now but he's chinny and Conor has more of a chance against him. If short notice Lando had him so damn drowsy Conor definitely has a chance. If Tony survives the 2nd round, Conor is all his. If i was Conor I wouldn't fight either. Cucuy has more weapons overall for sure, but Khabibs pressure is some of the craziest shit in MMA today.

El Cucuy is closer to a Nate Diaz style fighter, solid cardio, toughness, stand up, and BJJ. Khabib likes to "bum rush" his opponent in a lot of cases so I would say McGregor probably thinks he can catch Khabib coming in, same way he did a rushing Aldo. One thing is for sure, these 3 are going to have to hash this out and probably all fight each other. Its just a matter of what order.

if anything he will want Khabib because he wants to be the guy to break a 25-0 record, like he tried to do with Mayweather. Conor is an opportunist and will only fight when he stands to gain more than lose, he doesnt get anything if he's the next guy to beat Tony, but he would always be remembered as the first/only guy to beat Khabib if they fought.

Neither is a good option for him, but the Khabib that showed up Saturday night was markedly better than any version of him in the past. Once again, his striking is EXTREMELY underrated. He mixes his striking in with his grappling perfectly. Its the same reason why a "inferior" striker like Fedor was able to land so much against Cro Cop in their championship fight. After a few take downs the striking opens up for you. He puts you on the defense so much that it opens up the opponent to take a lot of punishment.

Conor isn't coming back any time soon. He could:

A) Stay at home spending his tens of millions of dollars and enjoying his celebrity status while waiting for his two top contenders to pick each other off

or

B) Fight one of two top ranked fighters who are both on long winning streaks and are possible in the p4p rankings

But khabib will have an easier time getting conor down then Tony would. Also Tony is more likely to strike with conor for extended periods of time. Also I disagree with your general premise. It's not simply a wash. Conor would have an easier time getting up against Tony if taken down then he would against khabib so the difference in their grappling ability does matter.

It would look a bit daft if Conor fought Nurmagomedov while Ferguson is the interim Champion.

Plus, if you're applying your logic here, striking is hardly Ferguson's strength either. He's being dropped in a couple of his fights whereas Nurmagomedov hasn't.

I think Nurmagomedov is going to go straight at him and try cutting him off, while Ferguson usually stays on the outside, but I'd have a feeling he'd try to do similar and box Conor in as well. That opens them up to getting clipped and while Conor might not KO them with one punch, as we seen in the Alvarez fight, he dropped him early and he couldn't get in close - barring one time up against the fence - without getting hit.

It's all 'ifs, ands and buts'
