It DOES SUCK that we never got a rematch. I dont blame Conor for not doing it, but so many unanswered questions !I like both but I think me and many others wished it had lasted longer. Can’t blame Conor for finding the kill shot early though.
Well, it wasnt hard to see why they though that. They were originally gonna give him a title shot for beating Denis fuckin Siver. They thought Conor was just a freakshow given easy fights.
In some ways it was dissapointing, but also incredible and spectacular, in another way.I was expecting a war. I made myself a coffee (cause it’s about 4am here, when the main even starts) I took a sip of coffee and the fight was already over. I was quite disappointed, tbh…
Today on Magical moments in MMA history
The main thing is, when Conor was on his momentum he was a madman risk taker in a very exciting way.I'm irish
I backed Conor until he acted like a shitebag
Yes he was deogratory and annoying early on, but it was hype to sell, or so it seemed
Most importantly, I knew he would win. I remember chatting to local fighters at the time Aldo pulled out and we all agreed mendes was a tougher fight for conor
Aldo fanboys are delusional thinking he would beat conor in a rematch, he wouldn't
He has lost against every top fighter he has faced, particularly since usada
He was the champion at 145. So he didnt "run away"I felt that Conor ran away from 145 because of the weight cut, but I also think he was happy to have a KO over Aldo and wasn't going to risk being 1-1 with him. Him moving to 155 and fighting Eddie was the smarter career choice.
