Media Conor McGregor released drug testing results

Honestly he isn't competitive as a MMA fighter anymore. His best bet is some sort of boxing or bareknuckle. He probably wants to get out of his contract. He can probably earn something without promoting with the UFC. I suspect it would be a lot less but he would be able to keep the majority of the revenue.

I believe he has an expiration date on his contract. It might be coming up soon. If you are the promotion. Do you put him in a fight and promote the hell out of him before he leaves? The alternative is just to let him fizzle out from limelight without a fight. When he fights then put up the videos of Khabib strangling him on youtube for free.

Because as you say he’s not competitive anymore. In all likelihood he gets destroyed by any top 15 fighters. So maybe they should cash in on his still huge draw appeal two more times & then cut him loose 1-6 of last seven as opposed to letting him fizzle out & lose out on the money & send him packing with a better record.

Because he aint serious about it. Why wouldnt Dana book his biggest cash cow. Because he hates money?
Rumor is that UFC is trying to delay Conor fight to be included in their next tv/streaming deal.

Iirc the ufc+ thing expires 12/31/24 so they are shopping a new deal and having Conors next fight on that platform adds a LOT of pull to their side of the negotiation

Cocaine is only an in competition violation.

Conor can get high as fuck until he has a fight booked and not violate the drug policy.
What you say sounds like an off the shelf Conor joke.
At the same time it sounds strangely plausible.

I'm pretty sure it is actually the UFC drug testing policy. Same for weed and probably other recreational drugs.

Off season they test primarily for steroids.

In season steroids plus amphetamines and anything that could be deemed performance enhancing. Like weed, which gave Nick Diaz the super power of being immune to pain to beat then reigning PrideFC champ Takanori Gomi.

UFC has been accused of, and rightfully so, dragging their feet when big names are nearing the end of their deals. That's been a known and repeat issue here for years.

But suddenly the topic is Conor and this is something new?

Because his biggest cash cow wants free agency and co-owns a rival organization that he’s going to fight for?

Conor has two fights left, he’s made it clear after two more, he’s going to fight for BKFC.

UFC is trying to stall him out as long as possible.
Burger King fight club won’t do well

You’re reaching

Contractually they have to offer Conor a fight every 6 months. Clearly Conor doesn't want to fight for the money that's being offered, OR he doesn't like the opponents being offered.

If he wasn't being offered fights he could null-&-void his contract, although that would likely take years through the courts.

im having a wild guess that cocaine isnt a drug they test for

Coke is out of your system in literally days, they also don’t test for it out of competition if I remember correctly. Jon Jones pissed hot for coke out of competition and the news got leaked but he wasn’t punished for it because it was out of competition

So Conor finally passes a single drug test and can't help but bragging about it? Unless I see all the results, I'll just assume he failed the other drug tests.

And now the real test is that he has to make it through training camp and all the way to the fight without failing another one...

That's so interesting because last year he refused to enter the testing pool in time to fight Chandler, but now he had a negative result so he shares it publicly

He’s had more than one, they’ve been testing him forever and he entered the pool I think in April of 2023 or something.

He hasn’t been suspended so obviously all the tests are negative

They could but the window for them to even catch it would be short. We have to test our patients who are on controlled substances a most of the time it isn't even random, we tell them they are due and have 30 days to complete it. We have people testing positive for cocaine when the half life is about 2-3 days so they literally just had to stop for 3 days then go and they can't even manage to do that. Amazed at how many 70+ year olds are snorting powder still.
Those are 2009 numbers you’re talking about. I’m a CDC and our test are for the metabolite that your body breaks coke down into and it can detect it for up to 45 days!

There aren't many Russian wrestlers in the division. He can just refuse them too. I think he wanted Chandler because Chandler is short and tends to brawl.

I think he is shot. I don't believe he beats a striker but there is always the slight chance there is some magic left.
yeah, power is the last too go, so there is a chance.
