He won't go to prison unfortunately, it's not a criminal trial. In the UK you have to prove beyond reasonable doubt and it sounds like they can't quite do that, but for a civil case you've got to show it was very likely he did it basically.

You have to prove beyond reasonable doubt in a criminal case and with her admitting to having taken coke etc on the night in question I guess CPS (or the Irish equivalent) don't think there's quite enough to guarantee a conviction.

In a civil case the burden of proof isn't quite as high.

He literally told me about her months before her story came to light.
He actually predicted that they wouldn't charge him criminally, and that they would make her go for the civil suit to make her look like a gold digger...even though she refused the money payout up front.

Dr Kane says he opened a sexual assault examination kit to collect DNA samples in presence of a garda from Sundrive. He noted “multiple body injuries.”

He noted several injuries including an abrasion to right side of jawline, neck, bruises on right arm and fingers, knuckles, left arm, back upper arm. Right buttock had two bruises. Left buttock three bruises consistent with a handprint. Purple in colour. Right breast had bruise.

Abrasion or scratch 9cm in length on the breast also.

Top of right leg there were four separate bruises all purple in colour. On lower leg two separate bruises on kneecap. On side of lower leg another bruise. Three separate bruises towards centre. Posterior of the leg there were “extensive” blue and purple bruising.

Left leg - three bruises on the thigh, lower part below kneecap another six bruises. Another bruise on left ankle joint.

Dr Kane says there were a “multiplicity” of bruises.
