Conor McGregor highly influenced by "The Secret" dvd

Conor has demonstrated some pretty fantastic things. Many of his visualizations have come true, and pretty accurately. He said he would take out Dustin Poirier, who was never stopped, in 1 round. Same with Chad. Said the same about Aldo, who also had never been stopped (probably the hardest to believe). It makes some of his accomplishments pretty interesting, and you wonder what he means when he says some of these things about "visualizations". Of course, he has gotten some things wrong and its not like he's predicting things that are rare in the fight game, but it seems overall that his views have brought a lot of benefit to him.

If there is credit to it, then it can be an asset to a fighter in their mental approach to training/development.
A fighter predicting they will by KO? Wow no way

I agree that you need to stay positive and all that happy horseshit, but you need to work like a motherfucker if you hope to be successful. Especially if you come from a low economic area. For a lot of guys in my area growing up, wrestling is the only way they can go to college. Thats if you're good enough. For others it's the military. Obviously it took some work to go from poor to middle class. But if you work hard and follow a straight moral code, you will find success.

If it's true that he buys into this Secret BS, then his setback against Diaz must have been truly confusing.

I was totally skeptical about this movement, but with the rise of this SJW movement with people seeking out negativity and things to blame outside of themselves, i'm starting to think The Secret is exactly what is needed. At the core of this belief is the idea that you are responsible for your situation. Is that not a neglected viewpoint in this generation??

I still believe there are limits to what positive thinking/attraction can achieve, but at it's core it is proven and totally useful.

glad this got bumped. this is the source of conor's magical thinking, unfounded confidence (until he started losing) and the arrogance he displayed so splendidly throughout his career.

in a way i see conor as a victim of the kind of lies and false views that "the secret" promotes and teaches. if anyone gets the chance to watch the video "the secret" its worth seeing. one of the guys (the one who said after practicing it that checks just started showing up in the mail) went to prison. turns out he was conning people for those checks.

another guy from the secret got charged with manslaughter. turns out if you tell people in a sweat lodge that you are running that if they believe hard enough it wont be too hot for them they can still die from the heat. two people died. i know -- its astounding.

when conor made his rise he was riding the massive high that comes from believing you have found magical powers and are harnessing laws and energies that effect outcomes. obviously that tuned him into an insufferable cunt and set him up for the fall he has taken.

all in all his career is a great example of what does not work. you dont get magical powers and if you think you have them you become an asshole. if you really believe in them and you find out it was all bullshit--- you may never recover from it.

conor will never recover from it imo.
