The car being fire bombed was a different victim of Conors. The intimidation actually worked on her, she dropped the criminal charges against Conor soon afterwards. Also it was the boyfriend that got stabbed in the recent case.

Even nice people can do stupid things when they are drunk. It's not just linked to personality but impaired general perception and lack of inhibition.
