He spoke about why she was behaving x way in the lift or whatever, and I gave him a very valid explanation - based on direct, personal, informed experience too of my ex gf having been raped, and, trivialising it and not calling it what it is. And Weinstein's victims doing this, and thanking him after etc. / plenty of women who are raped do this, to essentially avoid the gravity of what they just went through, to avoid fully processing it. That could 100% be what she was doing.

But, regardless, doesn't change whether it happened or not.

I don't know about the attorney fees but Ireland is so fucked up on rape laws. The original case was dropped by the prosecutor despite overwhelming physical evidence because--i think at the time--the victim didn't want to testify. In the US, the case would have proceeded regardless. And then this judgement is a complete joke. Again in the US it would have been much more considering McGregor's wealth.

No, her discrepancy in her story and cctv over a hour of footage hurt her criminal case.. she was supposed beat up and raped with no bruising in cctv footage.. stayed 5 hours after said supposed rape hanging all over men.

Multiple texts lying to her boyfriend about her whereabouts and her friend with her said she was lying.

There was no proof any of the tampon stuff was conor. It became circumstantial evidence. His word vs her word and she didn't have a very reliable word.

It's a lot easier to win a civil case than a criminal with bad evidence.

For example look what happened to trump earlier this year. That lady tried for a criminal rape case got denied. Sued civilly just like hand did and won 800 million Verdi

The court has to approve an award of attorney's fees, and given that the only reason that Conor's friend was sued is that Conor himself lied and said his friend participated in the rape, no court is going to award Conor attorney's fees for his friend's defense. Usually fee awards are approved automatically in Ireland, but not in cases like this.

All I remember is the newspaper accounts of the time which were leaked info from the gardai but it sounded like she was definitely raped and beaten up pretty badly--also strangled--given the physical evidence. I think the main problem was that she didn't want to testify either because she was afraid of the mob that McGregor was hanging out with or because she thought he would pay her off. I guess all the relevant info came out in the civil trial, I can read accounts of that, I don't trust Owens, she is very biased and political as far as I know, but thanks
