He’s viewed as an embarrassment and not because of his losses, because of the way he has carried himself. Was chatting with someone at the Katie Taylor fight a few weeks ago and they really pointed out the difference in the two. He has and still does have a tremendous platform and he disgraces his family name and country with every step he makes. Katie Taylor even in a loss carried herself with pride and decency and will forever be loved in Ireland. Tyson hit rock bottom already. He apologized to his fans in his last fight,being honest and telling them he does not have the spirit to fight anymore. He went bankrupt. His daughter is killed in a freak accident. He isnt seen much in public for years. He was gone along time,and appears in the hangover and naturally,people missed him and wanted to see him again,and he in turn was very honest about his struggles,and showed alot of vulnerability. He made attempts to do right by the people he wronged,was very open about his struggles,and has lived a trouble-free life for decades now.

Could that happen to Conor? Sure but he has not even begun to take that road yet.

He really could have been a hero. He transcended the sport like very few athletes do. While he has made a mountain of money, now he’s the kind character mothers hope their sons won’t grow up to be. He could have lived forever, now most just want to forget he exists. Unfortunately he’s addicted to himself and will attempt to place himself front and centre wherever he goes. It’s a shame because his early run was great and as you say he talked shit that was distasteful but now he has a genuine darkness to him.

I said at the Taylor every silver lining has a cloud. Conor is that cloud.

I think he suffered serious trauma from the Mayweather fight. Mayweather basically dragged it on for how many rounds and just wacking him over and over and letting him recover. After the fight, Conner could barely put together sentences. That doesn't mean what he does is acceptable. I think some of it too is that realizing that Mayweather didn't even have to try to beat him, which hurt his ego.

Yep. Pretty much. Love him or hate him, the guy really did exactly what he said he was going to do in MMA. He came in, he took over, and he got rich. He just failed to stick the dismount on the "and then get out" part. He said he was going to come in, take over, get rich, and then get out.
