most in the trans community are responsible, in that they use the bathroom to just use the bathroom. it's not being entitled. the trans woman who has been living her life respectfully isn't being entitled. they are just living like the rest of us. and we're not going to start cup checking.

again, address the actual creeps and criminals in a harsher way and strengthen indecency laws.

a minority of trans are certainly entitled and take advantage but i have a wife and 2 teen daughters and haven't heard of any bad experiences. i know that doesn't mean people haven't had bad experiences. and fairness in sports are a different issue.

Because to them giving hormone drugs to kids is akin to child abuse. YOU don't care because you see stuff like that as ok and not child abuse, but half the country sees it in a completely different light.

Again, hormone drugs to kids weren't invented during the Biden administration. And "they" (by this we mean "parents," not the government) have been voluntarily giving it to them since then, as is their right.

For the government to take away parents' ability to give a certain type of medicine to their child would be terribly authoritarian. Just because half of the country is crazy or retarded doesn't mean you have to join them.

Also I have no problem with trans people using the bathroom of their choice if they're making an effort to pass. I object to transwomen in sports, female prisons, giving drugs to kids, and in places where they're naked like locker rooms forcing biological women to see penis.

Ok, if you want to say that this really isn't a dire, pressing social problem but the right has done a masterful job at diverting attention to it and that liberals/Democrats should play along just to win votes, that's a different argument. I wouldn't fully agree with it but it's a better argument than saying that yes, whether a female athlete sees a penis in a locker room should define who wields government power.

Having said that, the problem with those polls is that they assume that voters choose based on issues. And we know damn well that's not true. We know tons of people (probably most) vote on candidate likability, group identity, feelings, etc. Shit, we see it here in the WR and this is a place where everyone pays attention to politics.

There's a reason Men and Women's bathrooms were created to keep them separate in the first place. Several, actually. Being trans does not mean they get to ignore this. I completely agree that the majority of trans people are just going about their business like everyone else. However, they need to be more self aware that they are subject to rules like anyone else. Their desire to use whatever locker room they want does not trump people's desires to NOT have to share a locker room with the opposite sex. They think stating "Trans women are real women" gives them some magical pass, but it doesn't.

She WAS better than women. She WON a DIV championship....she did set meet records and school records just not world records. You also have different distances and events that some specialize in. She is better in some than others, that is common in swimming. How can you say she doesn't have an advantage when she didn't win a championship or even come close as a man?

that doesn't say she "has an advantage" it says the talent pool is much shallower. she was top 65 in one swim as a man, it's not like no one knew she existed. that's not her fault. her swim times dropped by like 15 seconds. promote women's athletics if you want stronger competition. there were still non-trans women she wasn't better than after she transitioned. so it sounds more like being good is where the real advantage is.

What I do enjoy doing is pointing out that so many people, both on the SD and out there in the real world, who don't want trannies competing in women's sports don't truly care about the safety of women or even the sports thing at all... this leads me to believe that this is just an excuse for them to attack trannies in society under the guise of protecting women.
