Comparing GSP and Usman's welterweight win streaks.

Everyone on a streak is the new goat according to Dana. I wonder if he ever expresses a pure thought before subverting it into a lie?

Tough fights for him. He could win, but none of those fights would’ve been easy for him

he would run a clinic on Colby and Burns. He would outclass them the entire time.

This idea that these two guys are too much for prime GSP is laughable.

It's not even fucking close at this point. We can start comparing to two if and when Usman has 3-4 more title defenses.

Burns, Rda, Young Edward, Colby, Woodley, Masvidal, Maia >>Hughes, Shield, Koscheck, Condit, and Diaz.
Burns, RDA, and Masvidal are blown up Lightweights.
Defeating Edwards at that point in time was as significant as McGregor defeating Holloway.
Covington is a good win.
Maia was coming off two losses.
Woodley got beat by Shields, the latter of whom got defeated by GSP.
And you just want to omit the Fitch and Hendricks wins from GSP's resume?

Fight matrix is shit.
As opposed to the UFC's rankings that's voted on by media who's websites are for sale or are nothing more than Facebook/Instagram pages? The same media who gets memos from the UFC on who to vote for?

And chiesa would completely dominant hardy.
Not the point.

Both Chiesa and Magny are better than Hardy.
What? Chiesa is a much better fighter than Hardy.
So what's your point?
That Welterweight today has laughable rankings too.

The fact that Dan hardy was even ranked in the top 5 prove how much better welterweight have become.

And lol at serra ranked #1 at one point.

Serra was the champ, so it made sense. Hardy's mouth got him ranked that high and it did not go so well once he was there.

No he wouldn't, they'd both give him a hard time. Colby has better grappling than Hughes and Burns has better striking than Serra. You guys just can't get past that nostalgia can you

#68 Leon Edwards would beat #5 ranked Dan Hardy

It is about skill level of the division relative to the Champion during his streak as well as number of defenses of the title and overall ranking of opposition which would dictate the GOAT of the division. Context matters. I still think prime Georges beats every guy that Usman beat.

The fact that you think he would run through them is loughable.

Colby has Hendricks level wrestling, so GSP most likely wouldn’t be able to take him down. GSP has a great jab, but he has never faced anyone with the pace and pressure of Colby. He might win a round or two, but would most likely succumb to Colby’s pressure.

GSP is a wet blanket in BJJ, he doesn’t have submissions. Burns is on another planet in terms of BJJ. Burns could submit him from anywhere. If it keeps standing, Burns could definitely knock him out. GSP would have to run from him with a jab for 5 rounds, cause he has no power in his punches to finish Burns.

GSP looked as great striker against wrestlers and like a great wrestler against strikers. He arguably lost to the first guy who could do both ( Hendricks). Colby and Burns can do both and would be a huge problem for GSP

Colby has better grappling than Hughes and Burns has better striking than Serra.
Using Hughes and Serra as the measuring sticks of the best grapplers and strikers that GSP has defeated is laughably biased.

Thanks TS, really shows how far MMA has evolved
Except it hasn't.

Okay. Who do you think should be ranked higher than Chiesa right now?
I'm not suggesting that Chiesa doesn't deserve to be ranked there, just that Hardy getting that highly ranked isn't so absurd when you compare it with Chiesa's route to getting in the same spot.

TS is autistic, I get it
All he knows is how to do is the stats game, he has no other knowledge of the sport. So you might have a point.
So instead of arguing the topic you resort to ad hominem attacks...<Lmaoo>

Crazy strengh of schedule by GSP lol
Best of all time, for sure

He was thrown to the wolfs right of the bat and dominated the division like no one before or since.

Using Hughes and Serra as the measuring sticks of the best grapplers and strikers that GSP has defeated is laughably biased.
Unless you're laughably biased it's the measuring stick of what it takes to KO and submit GSP. Imagine getting KO'd by Serra and basically losing to Hendricks then thinking you can outstrike the likes of Wonderboy. Or getting subbed by Hughes and then thinking Burns, Colby and Usman couldn't ragdoll you. Lmao

Bro you realize you just showed how fighters in GSPs day with an average rank of 2.66 are worse than todays fighters with an average rank of 27.

Not sure how you think this help your case, you're just highlighting how fighters in GSPs era are scrubs compared to today's era.

Dan Hardy was #5? Wow that division is even worse than i remembered. Not to mention Serra getting a title shot from TUF (Split decision even)
34-14 Masvidal is #2?
28-10 RDA was #3?
Guess we can both play this game...

Being the GOAT is about longevity and consistent title defenses. It's not how good you are in 2-3 years.
It how good you are over the better part of a decade.

When Usman dominates for another 5 years then happy to call him GOAT.
