I miss the (*) telling you what issues you can find the backstory.
When I was coming up that was my guide to everything. I just followed the asterix until there were none.

I don't know how a noob could pick up an ongoing title and not be lost these days.

this is actually a huge problem I think with comics today, sometimes I get lost myself when they tend to jump scene to scene.

Black Widow and Manifold might want to slowly creep to the back of that lineup.

This series has been pretty darn awesome.
There are gaping holes in the story ....like why and when type of stuff, but a lot of big baddies and the climax is yet to come...Thanos.

Infinity definitely kicks ass, crap loads of things are going on between Infinity/New Avengers/Avengers.

This title has a Grant Morrison feel to it..

Don't get me wrong, I'm really enjoying it. Its just that the whole builders, gardeners, ex-nihlo, abyss, PLUS colliding parallel universes seems very contrived. Half the time I just shrugged "I guess" when their stuff was going down. Maybe some of it is explained in the cross-overs, but I don't pick those up unless its a book I read on the reg.

Agreed. It's one of the reasons I don't read many mainstream comics regularly. I just pick up the Trades, or follow some Independent comics.

So my comic book is having all back issues for $1. What else should I get?

Several Batman annuals and specials
Superman/Wonderwoman
Painkiller Jane
Forever Evil: Arkham War

I was going to get Infinity but there were several titles with the tie in so I got confused and skipped it.
